@redboots: For sure. It definitely helped *me* get better sleep...I would wake up at every sound she made and I just totally lost my mind. And similarly, I'm sure the hubs and I made noises that disturbed her, too. In the end, I think it was a positive move for our family.

We put LO in her own room when she was 3 weeks old. I would co-sleep with her though and move back and forth between our room and hers.

We moved my lo out at 1 1/2 months because she was getting too big for the bassinet. I was really upset about it because I loved having her so close, but it was really great to have our own separate rooms. We would also wake each other up, and it's just better for my husband and me to have some privacy.

@Rubies: I've been following your posts and comments about your sleep training experience. Do you think it helped to have her out of the room?

I will be watching this thread because we will be doing this as well. Our baby crib will be in our room for atleast the first 6 to 8 months until we move to a bigger place

We moved LO into her own room and crib at 3.5 months when we sleep-trained. For the first couple of days, I got up at every cry she made. Eventually, I learned that it's okay for her to be alone and that she is safe. You can do it!

Hi Everyone,

Our ds is 6.5 months. He currently sleeps in his crib in our room. We had always planned to move him into the nursery at a later date but we never decided on a set date. He is at the age where it is rare for him to sleep with us in our bed. he just sees that as an opportunity to play. Once in a while we can cuddle with him but its rare.

We also had to sleep train him twice and its really hard not to go to him when his crib is right there. We are thinking that he would do much better in his own room. We wake him up when we make noises and I react to all his little noises.

However we dont even know where to start and Im still reluctant cuz its such a huge step for me. I just want him close by but it is obvious we are a distraction to his sleep.

Did anyone else move their lo to their own nursery after many months? Any tips or advice?
