We had LO in a bassinet in our room and always had the crib in her room. She went back to her room at 1 1/2 months. Honestly..... I'm glad she was in our room at first but life was so much easier once she moved. She's a light sleeper, and so is DH so everyone slept a lot better once we all had our own space.

Babiecakes is still in our room (he's 1). We rent a small townhouse and do have two bedrooms but DH is a WAHD so we would have to move his office downstairs and just haven't done that yet. It will be a major project.

We moved Toddler X to his room at almost 8 months, out of necessity-- we were in a 1bedroom apt before that. 8 months was way too long. We all slept better once we weren't waking each other up all the time. I'd day the sooner the better, once baby is down to a couple of wake ups a night.

We moved LO at 4.5 months. It was an easy transition for her but harder for me!

even though we have a second bedroom, we're planning on setting up the crib in our room to start with. but i'd like to eventually let LO have his/her own room.

if you had this arrangement, when did you make the transition? or what would you suggest for timing?
