@JoyfulKiwi: Distraction is what works! They get that second wind of energy and can power through. I know, i had LO in daycare at 11 months and didn't think she could last until 12pm nap time, but she did! She also did 2 naps on the weekend, one at 10am and another at 2:30pm. If he's waking up at 1-1:30pm, i would try and get him down around 6-6:30. Does he seem really tired/cranky? I only altered her bedtime because she was waking up at 5am screaming her head off from being overtired.

@Freckles: He wakes up at 5:45-6am. He was doing 8:30/9:00 to 10ish (about 1-1.5 hr) and then 1-2ish (1 hr). He falls asleep between 6:30-7:00.

This past week, they've been putting him down at 11:30-12 and he's been waking up at 1/1:30, so he's getting about 1.5 hours. Over the weekend, he still did the 2 nap schedule for us.

I'm confused at how he can be awake from 6am-12pm. That's a long time! Maybe we'll continue to do an earlier bedtime (although he's started waking up early in the morning when he goes to bed earlier).

What about skipping the morning nap and just doing the afternoon one? DS is 10 months and a lot of the time skips morning nap at daycare but will take a 2 hour nap at 12:30 then goes to bed around 7:30.

During the transition period, we moved her bedtime earlier to compensate for the short nap. They won't nap crazy long during the transition period, and some babies don't have monster long naps. What time does he wake up, and what time are you putting him down for the 1 nap?

It took a few weeks to transition her. Her naps then fell anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. Now at 16 months 1.5-2 hours is the norm.

F is 11 months. He's been fighting his afternoon nap for us at home and with his daycare teachers. We've been trying to have him do 1 nap for the past week, but he's really cranky in the afternoon. Meltdowns left and right. He only sleeps 1.5 hours for the nap, so that's 1.5 hours total for the day! He doesn't sleep more than usual at night.

Are we on the wrong track? Does the 1 nap transition take a while and he'll start sleeping more during that nap? I'm worried if we put him back to 2 naps a day, he'll only do 1.5 hours for his am nap and then not take a pm nap and be a REAL hot mess.

Did anybody else go through this?
