We're moving 2000 miles away in April, when DD will be 9 months old. Actually, we're leaving our house in three weeks and staying in temporary accommodation for 12 days before we fly up and move into our new house. We are quite fortunate in that DH's company pays for movers to come and pack, move all the furniture, and unpack in the new house....having done it twice before (once at 5 weeks pregnant and again at 35 weeks pregnant), I have to say it is well worth the money! Any chance you have the option of paying for that to be done? I know Australia is significantly different price wise than the states but the company is paying about $9000 for the move....and to me, the lack of hassle and stress I have to deal with is well worth every cent!

We moved across the country in October, with two kids. It was VERY hard work. All I can say is rely on friends when they reach out offering help, know that sometimes hiring people is better than going crazy, and there is a reason they invented wine. You can do it!

We did it last summer with an 8 month old. Everything takes 3 times as long as it did before. Just don't be too hard on yourself! It will all get done... eventually. I promise.

When we move in August, I am having LO go to daycare. I got back to work in October, and so her practice days will be perfect for me to go back home, get packing done, and then of course moving day as well!

Oh man, we'll be doing this soon, too. I'm not even sure when, cause we haven't found the right place, yet. But, dd will be under a year for sure.
