@snarkybiochemist: @caitcat: Thank you all, I will definitely try something. Even if it helps just a bit, will be definitely worth it!

@caitcat: I totally relate to how useful it is to feel vaguely human every once in awhile. Just periodically having part of a day where I have a bit of an appetite or feel like I can eat something and it will be fine make me feel like "yeah, I can get through this" instead of "it will NEVER end"....

@macintosh: Thank you, definitely reassuring!

@KNS: It's probably a good thing I didn't know this before getting pregnant :silly:

@periwinklebee: My OB actually told me to expect it to be worse for my second and that it generally gets worse each subsequent pregnancy

It is so discouraging to not feel any relief in the second trimester. I was so sick just about up to the third trimester with each of my pregnancies, and it felt so depressing as it went on. I did end up reluctantly taking something stronger with my first pregnancy. I tried to take it as little as possible, but it did let me feel vaguely human every so often. With my second baby, I stuck with a combination of B6/unisom, which I think is basically like diclegis, and muddled through. I also took an antacid religiously from about 10 weeks on, and if I missed a dose, I noticed the vomiting was worse...so maybe there was something to that. It might not hurt to try? So sorry you're going through this!

I vote for Zofran. I took it on and off through my pregnancy but mostly in the first tri. It works and my babe is a perfectly healthy 4 year old (other than the hereditary asthma).

@periwinklebee: just check with your doctor which they prefer for pregnancy. Mine preferred prevacid.

Thank you all!

@snarkybiochemist: @bhbee: Interesting thought on acid reflux - I haven't particularly noticed it, and didn't notice heartburn with DS, but given how much I'm puking I don't know how I'd tell the difference in any case. Will try something OTC to see if it helps.

@KNS: @bhbee: @pachamama: I've heard from multiple people that MS gets worse each pregnancy. Ugh why :meh: Last time I don't think I was totally off diclegis until 18 weeks, but at least the trend was upwards once I hit second tri. Maybe it's just taking longer to hit bottom this time... I better stop after two kids, lol....

@pachamama: The aversions are miserable - all food sounds gross to me too. I hate even having to open the fridge. But also know an empty stomach only makes it worse....I definitely took for granted healthy digestion/appetite when I was not pregnant :meh:

Ugh it’s awful. I second looking into acid reflux. Mine started to get bad in first tri this past pregnancy and I could hardly eat at all with it. But it wasn’t really clear that that’s what it was, until the medicine helped so much and took it back to more regular nausea. It felt more like just stomach pain and made me throw up more. Prevacid was the one that worked for me also. I took it with #2 and #3 almost the whole pregnancy, but just had regular heartburn (not awful) with #1. One of those things that got worse each time. My MS also lasted longer each time but was better by 16-18w. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Oh geesh mama sorry! I don't think mine got much worse when yours did but it was terrible from 6 weeks till about 26. the biggest thing is absolutely nothing tasted good to me. Not until the day after I gave birth did I have an appetite

Anecdotally it seems like second pregnancies are much worse for MS. Maybe you're just spiking and it will get better soon though.

I was nauseous until about 20 weeks with E and at around 14 weeks I also noticed that I had really bad acid reflux that made the nausea worse. I was only able to stop the diclegis at 20 weeks after I had been on prevacid for about a month. I then stayed on the prevacid until I delivered, if I missed any I was back to being super nauseous. I'm sorry you are dealing with this.

I had terrible morning sickness with both pregnancies but my second was so much worse. I was on diclegis and didn't come off of it until probably 20 weeks or so. Can you up your diclegis dose at all or are you at the max? I never moved to anything stronger but oh man it was miserable, you have my sympathy.

I'm around 14 weeks, and in the past week nausea has taken a turn for the worse. I haven't been able to keep down lunch all week, and from late afternoon til bedtime I can't keep anything down, not even water or ginger tea. I started diclegis around 6 weeks, and I'm wondering if I've gotten desensitized to it? Anyone have this happen, and if so what did you do? Or anyone just have MS peak late?

I really thought it would start getting better if I could make it to second tri (it was a turning point with LO1), so I'm feeling a bit discouraged. Doctor offered stronger meds a few weeks ago, but I'd prefer to avoid it if possible due to side effects and the fact that risks to the baby are not well understood.
