I'm needing to more keep an eye on the room more than anything, although if I get one for our room, I'll want to keep a close eye on the new LO. I just would feel better if I had to run upstairs knowing that downstairs, Henry is just crying because he fell and not because there's something wrong.

We have the Motorola MBP36 which supports 4 cameras. We have 2 right now.

As far as I could tell only BRU sells the monitor packaged with 2 cameras. Amazon has only 1. You could also buy extra cameras on eBay and pair them to your parent unit.

Been using it for 6 months. We leave it on and plugged in all night, amd if I use it only for checks during the day, it lasts all day on the battery. It has a voice activation feature to preserve battery life, but with the way our house is laid out, we don't often use it.

@MerryC: How long have you had the monitor? Does the receiver have a pretty long battery life?

We have an infant optics video monitor that lets you have up to 4 cameras with one receiver. It was I think 99 for the handset and one camera and another 60 for the second camera, from amazon. It works well for having one child in the nursery and one who sleeps in our room.

The house we're hoping we'll close on soon is two stories. If we get this house, LO (due March) will sleep in our room upstairs until 6 months, Henry will have his own room across the hall from ours, and then there will be the playroom downstairs next to my office. I intend to have the PnP in the living room for infant day naps but Henry will still need to go upstairs to nap.

In my mind's eye, I would need at least two monitors - one for Henry's nursery, one for the playroom (in case I have to go upstairs for something while Henry's playing), and perhaps one for our room. The only experience I have with monitors is a simple Motorola monitor that my SIL gave me at my baby shower for Henry a year ago. It was a return, which is why she got it so cheap, but I hate it. It's always been a little flaky and only does sound monitoring.

I would kind of like a visual monitor for Henry's room and for the playroom but I'm content to have just a sound monitor for our room (since newest LO won't be alone in there hardly ever). Does anyone have any experience with multiple monitors, single receivers? Or am I going to have to keep up with multiple monitors and multiple receivers?

Any suggestions would be great!
