@c.sassy: I'm doing exactly this. I'm using Amazon as our main registry and added the same stuff (that was available in store) at BRU-- mostly because I know people usually end up getting things last minute at brick-and-mortar stores for baby showers.

I also plan on being a registry stalker and marking things off as "Already purchased" if it gets bought on the other registry.

ooh, I would love Pottery Barn Kids. Right now i'm doing Amazon where you can add things from all different websites to one registry. I'm loving Serena & Lily & Layla Grayce too.

I registered at BRU and Target. For some items, like the pack n play, Target was about 15% cheaper for the same item in a different pattern/color. Most of the stuff I registered for at BRU though, since that seemed to be the most popular place for family to shop at.

I registered at BRU and Amazon. Most of our big ticket items were purchased from BRU!

Target and BRU had great return policies so if you get a duplicate it's not bad at all. Actually I liked getting duplicates because I could then put the store credit towards leftover items I REALLY needed. We only paid about $50 out of pocket for our carseat because of all the store credit we accumulated from returns.

I did register for a few of the same things at amazon and BRU, but I kept an eye on both registries so if one got bought, I'd delete the other. People were more likely to buy off BRU than amazon.

I was so discouraged with the local BRU selection that I decided to register totally online. I have a BRU registry also with some overlap but plan to just keep an eye on it.

I have Target and BRU and tried to divvy up the items based on what I liked better at each place. But I'm also keeping an eye on both registries so if one starts to be used more than the other, I'll move items over.

I ended up registering for the same things at both. It made it easy. I knew that people here would buy from one place while people in our hometowns would buy from the other. I figured that even if we did get duplicates, we could just exchange them when we make our final pre-baby shopping trip.

I registered at PBK, BRU and amazon. I think so long as you don't register for the same items at different places, you aren't at any greater risk for getting duplicates as you would otherwise be. My shower guests purchased pretty widely from all 3 registries and I didn't end up with duplicates of anything (except clothing, which I didn't register for anyways).

i think we're twins. i was literally just talking to my mom about this, just now. i'm putting the "major" things at babies r us because i thought people would check there first. and 'others' at target - also divvying up based on any huge price differences. just because i know of price matching policies doesn't mean others will.

and i plan to keep an eye out - if something gets bought, ill delete off the other (cups, bottles, etc).

I registered at BRU and Target. I just registered for things I liked at both, and then went through it later online to delete things that overlapped.

If you had more than one registry, how did you divide up your lists so that you didn't end up with duplicates of an item?

Buy Buy Baby & Pottery Barn Kids is my ideal two, but up north (where DH's extended family is) they only have a BRU; so I'm trying to prep for the future. I'm not toow worried about PBK, but BBB and BRU will have lots of overlaps!
