@Foodnerd81: This was going to be my question after seeing so many recommend the Echo: can you set a specific play list (and do I have to have an Amazon music library to do so), or is it just a random shuffle by type of music?

Super old school lol. I use a music box that you twist up and it only stays on for like a minute. We have used it since he was a baby and he still wants it on and he is almost 4.

My daughter uses my old boom box and CDs. I get CDs from the library a lot but she also has her own. I prefer the lullabies but she much prefers "silly songs". I do want to get a smaller CD player, but might just resurrect my old shuffle and get a cheap speaker instead.

DD is almost 4 and we've been doing this for about a year, also to incentivize her to stay in bed.

We have an old iPad we use, and I just YouTube “lullabies” or “nighttime music” or something like that each night as there are videos that are like 8 hours long. I just put it on a high shelf in the closet (which remains open) so they can’t reach it. An Echo Dot would be my ideal choice though.

We use a little CD player alarm clock to play a lullabies CD. We have some music on a little iPod shuffle, too, that we've attached to a portable speaker when traveling.

My 5 year old has an echo dot in her room. She uses it during her quiet time in the afternoon (well little sister is supposed to take a nap). You could probably set a play list on it but I don’t actually know how.

I just leave my phone in their room until they fall asleep. My friend said her parents brought her old boom box and hey kids have been listening to audio books on CD (and tape!!).

If your LO listens to music while falling asleep, what do you use to play it? I am thinking that music may help DD, almost 3, with staying in her bed at bedtime, but I am not sure what is the best way to supply it. I am pretty old school, so my first thought is to get her a small CD player and burn some soothing songs on to a CD, but I know that there are higher tech options available. What do you use?
