Percussion is always a safe bet. A kid drum set, tambourine, cymbals, rhythm sticks, etc. are lots of fun. The piano, xylophone, and bells are other good options.

I want to put together a music station for my toddler, but I am unsure where to start. I want to do a mix of homemade and purchased items, so I was thinking I can make some maracas using dried beans in toilet paper tubes and I can make some bongos using cardboard canisters. Any other ideas? Tried and true purchased items?
