It specifically says "plays music (not actually instruments)." What ideas do you have for a 3 year old that fits this criteria that he wouldn't quickly grow out of? Any musical toys I can think of are geared younger, the toys I keep running across for this age are more interactive, like the B. Parum drum. I was wondering about the VTech Zoo Jams Piano, Leapfrog Learn & Groove Musical Mat, VTech drum set. Please let me know what ideas pop into your head!
