I used AAs all the time with a summer baby as sun shade, burp cloths, play area, nursing cover. I also used them when he was in the rock n play and only needed a light swaddle. Then we used the miracle blanket, and back to AAs when he grew out of the MB and we had to double swaddle!

Actually I used them for both my DDs and my eldest is 4.5 yo, so they've been around for a while, but they weren't as popular or prevalent before (not sold in Target back then, for example). I didn't like the Miracle Blanket because I swaddle in such a way that their arms still bend a little. A&A are awesome because the are so large and you can really wrap them up like a burrito and it stays that way. I also use them as extra sunshade in the stroller or car. Since they are so light, I don't worry about overheating. And once DD2 got annoyed with my nursing cover, the AA blanket worked better for us for a bit.

@bree72: It sounds like you either LOVE them, or just don't care either way. I couldn't live without my A&A blankets! but so many people, like you, find no use for them!

It's funny how we all love different baby products :)

We use them for everything. They're great for the diaper bag because they aren't bulky. We use it for tummy time, covering the carseat, keeping her warm, burp cloth, etc. We have a ton of blankets, too but we use the AA ones all the time.

We only used them as stroller blankets. As you say, any blanket will do. Not sure what all the fuss is about either? They are soft and come in cute designs. It doesn't sound like you need them. Hope you're doing well!

My LO hates swaddling, and I've decided that they're just too big right now for anything else. I'm not sure why people are so in love with them, honestly. That said, I adore their burpy bibs. I have like 10 even though they're the most expensive burp cloths ever. The muslin is great for absorption and they are shaped perfectly.

My LO only liked being swaddled for about two months and the AA blankets (original, 47"x47")worked the best. I have some of the bamboo AA blankets and they are soft but too slippery for swaddling.

I also use them for tummy time, as a nursing cover, blanket, lovey and sunshade!

My 3.5 month-old is starting to outgrow his miracle blanket and one of his knees keeps popping out. When it's cooler I would consider using our A+A to double swaddle. I also use ours when he naps on the swing. I've also used it to sit on before when we were out b/c the bench was so dirty. I'm sure you'll be able to find many uses for it as well!

My top uses:

1) Swaddling - but like you said, you have the miracle blanket so it's not needed. However, once she outgrows the miracle blanket, an A&A blanket is great. My son is nearly 5 mos and the A&A blanket is big enough for him.

2) a burp cloth! This use originated because it was what we had on hand when he spit up once, but we found it absorbs great.

3) It was warm enough for our winter months, but cool enough for the summer. Great as a stroller/car seat blanket.

4) when I didn't have my udder cover on me, this worked great as a nursing cover

5) It has become Cobi's lovey!

We didn't get any muslin blankets for LO and survived! They are pretty great for the summer months though. As much as I want to buy some for baby #2, I probably won't.

btw! hope you and the fam are doing well!!! Thinking of you!

So I know everyone has said they love their Aden & Anais muslin blankets, and I received a pack as a gift from my shower. I'm excited about them, but now that the baby is here and in a miracle blanket pretty much 24/7, I'm wondering what I would use the muslin blankets for? Other than covering the carseat, keeping her warm in the stroller, etc. We have tons of other blankets that can serve that purpose.

Just wondering since it's yet another lovely product that didn't exist when Wagon Jr. was a baby!!
