@BabyBoecksMom: How are you doing? I over did it with my knee scope and still feel *the spot* where the impact happened years later, healed fine, but still a bad twinge there, hope you're doing ok!!

@pastemoo: Thanks for posting that. I called and they said that, unless there is a significant amount of swelling or I'm in excruciating pain, that I should just ice and elevate it and wait until my appt on Monday. But if there is any change, to call them back immediately.

Can you go in today? A knee scope is a (relatively) simple surgery and but the post surgical complications from new trauma should be addressed ASAP so you don't extend the healing time (I used to be the assistant to an orthopaedic surgeon).

If they can fit you in today, go today. Also stitches can be taken out from a knee scope 5-10 days after surgery (usually) so you may not need to go back on Monday, too.

Thanks, Ladies. It's super sore this morning and a little swollen. I'm taking 3 Advil every 4 hours to keep the swelling down. He is a super clumsy dog, especially when he's excited, so I can't be too mad at him. Just mad that it happened.

@Thehistoryofus: This is the most recent picture I have - he's the one laying on the floor. I had more on my phone but some software I installed wiped my SD card and I lost all my pictures. (To give you some perspective, DH is 6'8", and DD was almost 3 mo at the time)

@prettylizy: I'm laughing thinking about you doing the flamingo, because I could totally see me doing that.

@ktdid23: This is the 2nd scope for me. 1st time around, I had a lengthy recovery, too. This time, I was walking w/o crutches by the 3rd day and by the 6th day, I had full range of motion. SO much better now! (well, it was :-P)

Hope it feels better soon. I took my 135lb Newfoundland to visit my dad the day he came home from having knee replacement surgery and the first thing she did was go over and set her big head on his knee; not the smartest move on my part.

@BABYBOECKSMOM Hope you're doing ok! I need to schedule a knee scope for very early January :-( I had one back in high school and remember recovery being quite long. I'm dreading this recovery - this time I'll have a two year old and a job to juggle, instead of just high school and my mom taking care of me. How has your recovery been?

Oh no!! big dogs can be so clumsy. When I had foot surgery done I'd do a flamingo move and lift that foot up as high as I could whenever I needed to let them out so that they didn't stomp it. Hope everything is ok.

My great dane gets really excited when we get home. I went to let him out the back door and he ran, slipped and fell right into my knee. I just had a knee scope on it last Wednesday. It's hurting pretty good right now and I'm so worried that it's damaged again. I'm icing it... Hope that's all it needs. I go for a follow up and to get my stitches out on Monday. So mad right now.
