I caught her hand and told her 'No, that hurts'. Then I'd let her hand go and she'd do it immediately again. So I'd catch her hand and say 'No, that hurts'. After the third time I'd put her down and usually that resulted in tears. So I'd explain why I put her down and wait a min before picking her up and seeing what she did. If she hit or pinched I put her right back down. If she started coming over and digging her fingernails in my legs I moved her away or put her in the pack n play. They're persistent but you can outlast them 😉

My LO was/sometimes still is like this. He thinks it's HILARIOUS if we react. Timeout is the only thing that has worked, along with now that he is 20 month, we talk sadly to him about being gentle and giving love, so gives the sweetest gentle hugs/kisses in return, but unfortunately if we start smiling laughing again quickly he is right back to it.

At 14 months old maybe she's just trying to get a reaction? I know my 16 month old thinks its funny when I say 'ow'. So maybe no reaction at all at this point?
DS seems to recognize my "I mean it" voice now, so a very loud NO will get him to listen, but it is definitely not my normal voice.

Timeout. Pick her up immediately and tell her calmly, "we don't bite/scratch/whatever" and set her facing a wall or corner.

Ok not really. She's usually very sweet but she gets into these zones where she pinches, or bites, or pulls hair really hard and she'll just keep doing it and doing it. I've tried telling her that it hurts, and fake crying. I've tried walking away so she understands that this behavior takes mommy away. I've tried holding her hands and telling her no very firmly.

Any other ideas? I'm desperate because I have permanent bruises where she keeps biting me, I've lost chunks of hair and have had multiple scratches on my face where she pinched and dug her nails in.

Please help.
