@Kemma: ah ok. That's what I've been doing too. DH brought him in at 5 last night when he woke and he nursed but he had trouble falling back to sleep. It took a good hour to get him back to sleep and we then slept together until 8:30.

@JoyfulKiwi: I'm so thankful DH was willing to put in the effort. I think it really helped him realize he's not going to nurse all night long. Easy on me too! I didn't have to do anything. :)

@Kemma: yay! That's awesome! What do you do when she wakes up? How do u put her back to sleep? Or does she get up after 9 hours?

Niiiice!

And it must be an October baby thing because Miss A has been busting out some nine hour sleeps over the last couple of weeks too!

That's great! We're in a similar situation. DS sleeps with us but doesn't nurse. He usually sleeps through the night if he's sleeping with us. We recently tried a toddler bed but no luck. Here's to trying again in a few months!

Oh wow! That gives me hope, because we're literally in the exact same sleep situation. :) We just started doing a floor bed to get rid of nursing to sleep. Maybe I can get my husband on board to do the rest of the night training?

DS has not slept through the night since he was 3 months old. He's now 15 months. He would start the night on his floor bed then come to our bed around 10 and wake up 3-5 times a night.

With baby #2 on the way, we finally decided something had to change. My DH has been working with him over the last 3-4 weeks. He took over bedtime and has got him to fall asleep on his own (previously nursing to sleep). He then took first shift and when he woke between 10-11, would go and sleep with him on his floor until at least 2 am. DS cried a lot and was not happy to not have mommy in the middle of the night and he slowly adjusted. DH started staying in his room with him longer and longer and not bring him to our bed until 4-5 am.

Well now 4 nights in a row he has STTN (well 6 hours + with out waking up) The first night he slept until 2:30, then the next 2 nights until 3:30 and last night he slept until 5 am! I just can't believe it, and really hope I'm not jinxing myself by posting this. We're really hoping to get him to sleep the whole night in his bed soon.

Now I just need to figure out how to get myself to STTN again. I keep waking up and having trouble falling back to sleep. Combine that with having to pee and having crazy pregnancy dreams, I'm waking up way too much!
