Air purifier should help... this happened with one of my kids when they still had wet pullups, the smell is strong! Assume you're throwing them out in the trash outside, and not in a trash his room too.

Thanks everyone!

I will look into the charcoal. He wears Goodnights at bedtime (or the Target brand). He is still waking up soaked so clearly not ready to train at night. That's super low on my priority list right now!

I use the charcoal pads too.

But we switched to nightime pullups and it helps the smell a lot more. My four year old isn't night trained either but I don't even want to get started right now.

@PinkElephant: right, this. I know it's not leaking, but since it's saturated, sizing up might help with the lingering odor. Also, airing out the sheets daily. So throw the bedding back so it's all open and exposed for at least an hour or so before making the bed

Agree that the dampness could come through the surface of diapers and pull-ups.

Does he sleep deeply enough that you could change him into a new one before you go to bed?

I know he’s not leaking, but what about having like 3 sets of fitted sheets on his bed with pads in between? Then you can just peel off a layer each day or when you smell it and wash it whenever and he still has fresh sheets for that night with no pressure to make the bed ASAP that day. We also have 2 cheap duvets, pillows, etc so I don’t have to have it all done and make the bed by the end of the day because that would always annoy me the most about accidents.

@MrsADS: Even if it's not leaking, if it's pretty saturated and he's laying on it (i.e. he fills it while laying on his stomach, and continues to lay on his stomach), some dampness is probably soaking into the sheets. I can remember this happening when my daughter would have a really full pull-up (but no actual leaks). Not sure what to suggest other than something smaller than a sheet that you change more frequently than you would a sheet to save yourself laundry. Maybe a towel or a puppy-pad if he's not a terribly active sleeper?

@Corduroy: Yes! My DD hid them in her closet for a time period when she wanted to switch to undies but wasn't ready. She'd intentionally get up before me, change to a dry one, and stash the pee-filled one in a corner of her closet!

We had this problem for awhile - I hated it! Like you there was no leaking, just so much pee that had a crazy strong odor. I ended up putting two charcoal air purifying bags in her room and it took the smell away. You just need to put them in the sun every 30 days and then they absorb odors. We use them in a few places around our house.

As someone who recently found two old pee soaked pull ups in her 4 year old's room, could there be a lost one?

Sorry, I should have clarified- the pull-up isn't leaking. It's just that being filled with pee all night makes his room stink.

I use this on top of his sheets. super easy to throw in the washer, terry cloth like a towel, and not noisy (crinkly) at all

HELP. My 4 year old sleeps in a pull-up and wakes with it full of pee every morning (fine with me - he is not ready for night-time potty training).

The problem is, his bed, sheets, and really his whole room just REEKS of pee all the time! It is so gross. Washing the sheets helps, but I don't have time to wash his bedding every day.

Anybody have any hacks?
