@LazyLightning: FWIW My LO hated the carrier at first too - but tolerated it outside. I built up his tolerance, and he eventually really liked it. He has never, and still, won't tolerate me wearing him around the house but if he was really worked up it was worth it to just walk in quiet.

6 week fussiness is the worst. My son cried from the minute my husband left in the morning until he got home 13 hours later. I was dreaming about going back to work. There's not much I can say to help right now, but promise it DOES get better. (And in my experience, the really fussy infants are the happy babies - totally happened with mine.)

Dear god, I'm so sorry. Can your husband's mother come over any? What about his brother or any relatives? I wish you still lived here, I'd come and hold her for a while. At some point, if you can't fix it, you just need a break.

@LazyLightning: Just wanted to say don't give up on the babywearing - I thought my LO hated it too because she'd scream on the way in, but usually within 10 mins she's alseep. We sort of just discovered it this weekend. I can't sleep, shower or pump while she's in there (usually all I want to do while she's asleep), but I'll take TV over nothing.

ETA: hehe she just started screaming in the moby. Nothing is 100% i guess.

I hope you're day is getting better. Remember to take breaks and its okay to leave her in a safe space, close the door and take a breather.

@LazyLightning: I am going to call dairy allergy...

Our pedi brushed off the skin issues we were having as baby acne and contact dermatitis. He was pretty certain it was not a dairy allergy. I had already switched baby soap and laundry soap so I knew it wasn't an irritant. I knew something was off so I eliminated dairy and within 3 days his rash was getting better and he was was less fussy. We got confirmation of the allergy at 8 weeks when he had blood in his poop :/

@LazyLightning: 6 weeks is HARD! They are more awake and don't have any 'hobbies' except for wanting to be held.

I echo the dairy/soy allergy. It doesn't present itself the same way in all babies. Any rash or dry skin?

You can also try the carrier when you're LO is drowsy - sometimes they reespond better than when they are all upset and flailing!

You're doing a great job mama - some days are just HARD xx

My LO is also 6 weeks and screamed bloody murder all day today as well. DH walked in the door from work at 10pm tonight to find me in the rocking chair in the nursery still in my pajamas from last night hyperventilating and having a panic attack while baby screamed. I kinda dumped LO in his arms and ran away for a 1/2 hour shower...

Just focusing on the fact that this too shall pass.... it has to!!! Hugs to you momma!

I'm so sorry that you're going through this :( M cried all.the.time as a newborn and I really thought I wouldn't survive it. I"m sure you've tried everything, but holding her while bouncing on an exercise ball (24/7) saved my life. My aunt had had a colicky baby and she sent the ball over when she heard that we were having a hard time. M did end up having MSPI and our lives changed after she was put on hypoallergenic formula. If the fussiness lasts and your pedi agrees it might be worth looking into. I don't think soy formula is recommended much currently. I hope things get better soon and that you enjoy your girls night!

@LazyLightning: I'm so sorry to hear! No advice, because we are going through the exact same thing right now. She just turned 6 weeks last Saturday and today has been a fussy mess. She had a complete meltdown at the midwives office when I went for my 6 week checkup. I'm attributing it to the 6 week growth spurt. Maybe our LOs will wake up bigger and happier tomorrow!!
