You would have heard her. We don't use a monitor bc her little grunts were keeping me awake, and her nursery is super close to our room. I have diagnosed moderate hearing loss and I still hear her!!!! :)

We share a wall between our room and C's nursery and I hear EVERYTHING. I'm sure you just have a major win on your hands! sTTN is an amazing amazing win. Smile mama :)

I think you would have heard her..if not right away, as a 6wk old she probably would have kept crying til you did!

@MrsRoo: I've had so many "mom fail" feelings over the past 8 weeks... I blame it on the postpartum hormones. I dropped LO's pacifier on his head (from like an inch above his head) which resulted in him giving me this hilarious wtf look but I burst into tears, feeling like a horrible mom for dropping his paci on his head!

Thank you, ladies! I think if the monitor would have still been on in the AM, it would have felt like more if a win, but I feel better now.

@hergreenapples: I hope this happens to us, it would be amazing to have her sleep more on the regular!
@septemberlove: I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has felt like this! I don't think I've ever gotten out of bed so fast!

She probably STTN!

This happened to us around 3 or 4 weeks. I also woke up in shock (and also painfully engorged and laying in a puddle of milk!). You may just have a good sleeper on your hands. Ever since DD did it the first time it's been pretty much the standard, save for a couple blips on the radar during growth spurts. She now (at nearly 7 weeks) sleeps reliably from 10:00 to 5:00 each night.

@mrsmate: ditto!! You definitely would have heard her if she needed you--I'm willing to bet she's got a good set of lungs! :)

I had the same kind of thing happen when my LO was 2 weeks old. He was a preemie and had to eat every 3 hours and we were trying to keep him used to the crib (he'd been in a crib in NICU). We were setting alarms to get up every 3 hours to feed him and I slept through my alarm(s!!) but he was totally okay. He ate more at his next feeding and was totally totally fine.

I still panicked and felt like a horrible mom and posted about my mom fail on HB. And they all said the same thing, relax, you're doing great! A little extra rest is good for you and LO! :)

You're a great mom, don't doubt that for a moment!

In my book a 6wo sttn is a mom win, not a fail. Calm down! ;)

More than likely.... she actually STTN. I know that we eventually stopped using our monitor because I didn't need it! I could hear her anyway and I would wake up in an instant.

I think you're probably fine. It's not a mom fail. You're not a bad parent. It happens.

We just started transitioning our 6 week old into her crib at night and she's doing pretty well. Last night she fell asleep on me after nursing around 9pm (her usual bed time- she's a night owl!). I did a dream feed at 11 and put her down in her crib. At some point in the night I guess our video monitor died, and the next thing I know, it's 6 am and I bolted out of bed to see my sweet daughter happily looking around her room! She accidentally STTN!

All this would be fine except for the part where the monitors battery was dead. I feel like she woke up crying and we didn't hear her, and I just feel like last night was one huge mom fail. What if she was crying and I wasn't there for her?! FTR, her nursery shares a wall with my room, so I *think* I would have heard her if she was crying... But I just don't know.

Did anyone else's LO accidentally STTN? Did you wake up panicked like I did? Feel free to tell me I'm being irrational, DH has been telling me that all morning. :-/
