@Sugar.Biscuit: ah ha!! Welcome to Oral Allergy Syndrome hell :( every year I find I'm allergic to a new fruit or vegetable that I used to enjoy on a regular basis. I think it's just becoming more and more severe as time goes on. Most recent was bell peppers :( I'm glad you have a diagnosis though... it's a relief to know what it is and what to avoid!

My sister has a latex allergy and avoids avocado and banana too. I have a TON of outdoor type allergies which show up (cross-whatever) in a lot of foods too. It's so frustrating!

Update: finally got to the allergy specialist & found out that I am not allergic to wheat. In fact @mrs. wagon: was right about the food allergies being linked to fruits & vegetables. I have several severe pollen allergies & they cross pollinate with the fruits & veg. Which is why I was still having problems.

@mrs. wagon: I'm totally down with getting shots. Right now I can't because we are TTC. I even have to decrease my allergy pills cause it has caused me to have a decrease in CM (almost none) which maybe why we are on cycle 10!

@Sugar.Biscuit: oh my goodness. Well hopefully the trip to the allergist will help! I've been told that if I take Claritin I can eat all the foods I'm allergic to but I prefer to just avoid them. And if you're allergic to all those pollens then its likely you're eating a whole bunch of foods that cross react with them, causing the itchiness! Look up oral allergy syndrome on Wikipedia.. it may help!

@mrs. wagon: oral allergy syndrome...you have me intrigued. This year my allergy list was two pages long! Shrimp, wheat, bremuda grass, retop bentgrass, a alternata, cat & dog dander, cockroaches (yeah cockroaches), two type of dust mites, elm tree, rag weed, and rough marshelder. I don't know what half that stuff is but obviously a lot of it is pollen. I wonder if that might have to do with why my mouth keeps flaring up & my throat itches all the time! I'm seeing a specialist on the 11th & was directed to stop taking all allergy meds in the mean time. These last few days have sucked! It would help if I would get rid of my cat & dogs but they are my fur babies!

My food allergies are similar... I'm allergic to any fruit or veggie that cross-reacts with birch pollen. And my seasonal allergies are to birch as well. So some years when birch hasn't been big I'm fine. Oral allergy syndrome

I'd heard that, about people with shellfish allergies also reacting to anything with iodine in it. Its funny how these things can cross-react, isn't it?

Last night my order for shampoo & conditioner came. I was SO looking forward to using my favorite product AND then I read the label. It contains wheat (encase you haven't heard I'm allergic to wheat).

I am a distributor for the products that I had purchased so I got online and did some research. The company has this listed as gluten free even though it contains wheat. Needless to say I emailed them about this matter.

This got me into doing even more research and I came across this:
"IgE antibodies can also “cross react “with other allergens. For example, someone with a latex allergy may also react after eating a banana, kiwi fruit or avocado. According to allergy specialist Professor Rohan Ameratunga, up to 50 per cent of people who react to one tree nut (including almonds, brazil nuts, Cashews, hazelnuts, macadamias, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios and walnuts) will react to other tree nuts."

You can read the full article here: http://www.celiac.com/articles/21847/1/Quite-Simple-Food-Allergies-vs-Food-Intolerance/Page1.html

I have a latex allergy as well & have been finding that banana, kiwi fruit or avocados have any effect on me as well. Honestly I thought I was just crazy but THIS TOTALLY MAKES SENSE! No one had EVER explained this to me before. This was my aahh-haaa moment for the day.
