@locavore_mama: @looch: My DD is 5 now and she cried at drop off today. So don't worry.. they will always be your babies. Even when you don't want them to be!

I'm sure your DD will do great in her new class! She'll watch the older kids and she will learn so much.. we noticed a huge leap after my DS went to the toddler room.

@locavore_mama: I know, I gotta get him potty trained. I seriously feel like I just blinked and he'll be 3 in December!

Awww, good luck to you both today! I am sure she'll love it!

I am already anxious about my son moving to the 3's room NEXT YEAR! He's obsessed with his one teacher, and I just don't know if the next class is going to be able to cut it!

@T.H.O.U.: yea, they reassured me that it's not totally cold turkey. They will help wean the kids from a bottle/sippy if the parents didn't start to. But I think after the first week they probably will go cold turkey!

@T.H.O.U.: @prettylizy: Is it? Perhaps because she's the youngest of the group moving to the toddler room. But she has always drank from our open cups. And when I found out about 2 months ago that they will be doing open cups in the toddler room we concentrated more on that. Now she will just grab our cup (I've been using plastic tumblers) and drink from it off the coffee table. She might spill 1 out of 12 times if she tips too far back.

@mediagirl: waiting to hear back from DH. Also concerned about the mood at daycare too.

Good luck! I remember that transition and her learning jumped SO much. She learned her colors and shapes and really started talking.

That does seem early for open cups, but maybe not. They cut out sippies at age 2 where we are.

Whoa, the open cup would scare me! lol! I guess we haven't been practicing much with that though.

Wahh! Today is my LO -16m- first day in the toddler room.

This means no bottles/sippies/straw cups, only open cups, using silverware and sleeping in cots. Where did my baby go?

I'm not worried about the open cup and silverware because we've been doing it at home and she's pretty good at both. And they practiced sleep on cots in the infant 2 room. I am a little worried about the completely new room and teachers though. :(
