both my dog and cat have become more attached to DH since I got pregnant. And my dog was super attached to me. He chooses to cuddle next to DH on the couch rather than me now  I guess it will be good once LO gets here though! Over Christmas my ILs' dog wanted to sit by me the first day we got there and Mack growled at her. That has never happened before and he ended up doing it to one of my parents' dogs as well. I think he's become more protective of me.

I feel like my cat is maybe a little more interested me since I got pregnant, but he's not a cuddly cat at all. He did attack my arm pretty badly once like 5 or 6 weeks ago and it really surprised me. He gets over stimulated, but he's never bit me as hard as he did that day. It hasn't happened again since then, so I'm not sure what the deal is!

I wonder if your cat was maybe trying to attack the broom while you were sweeping at got you instead? My male cat is a big hunter and will run up and "attack" us when he's in a playful mood and the way the broom bristles move would drive him crazy!

ow!

My cats pretty much hate me but when I was pregnant my cat was ALWAYS on my lap and rubbing her face on my stomach any time I was laying down. It was really weird.

no cats here, but so far the dogs are acting the same. i don't think they are smart enough to realize anything different is happening! lol

Ouch. I will say DH's cousin had issues with their two cats when she got KU the first time. The cats would actually sit on her lap and puke on her stomach like they already hated the.

That looks miserably painful! I don't have cats but my brother's cat sounds remarkably similar-- he hates not being the center of attention. I totally get loving them despite their flaws though, my dog is great but occasionally he drives me bananas, he seems to know though and he then does something extra cute or sweet to compensate.

I tried to vote but I think the poll thing is grumpy you only have one option.

My dog was a little weird while I was pregnant. I mentioned it in passing at an OB appointment, and she said she's heard that a lot from pet owners. Her thought was that, like a young toddler, they know something is up but they don't know what it is. If you think about it, a lot changes (your looks, lots of new stuff or stuff moved in your house, subtle and not so subtle changes in behavior, etc) and oets pick up that something is up. It can make them act strange. My dog just got super clingy with me, sorry your cats are being bratty!

***WARNING: GRAPHIC PICTURE***

I can't figure out why pets isn't under the parenting tab yet. Anyways if you follow my instagram you already know that I have a handful of cats. And it seems just recently they found out I was knocked up. They have been so bad. Worse than usual. And strange. Like our male cat cant leave me alone for a second. All night he insists on sleeping between my husband and I with his head on the pillow spooning us (weird I know). He also keeps like rubbing his head on my face and hands and he never used to do this.

Is this related to me being pregnant? It just started this week so I can't figure out why he was being normal the other 31 weeks.

Oh and the combo of cats has been generally acting up and rough housing, and throwing up more. Like I need this crap? But they have also been way more snuggly so I end up forgiving them.

I have attatched a picture from my male cat Dexter who was watching me sweep from the fridge and decided to jump down and land on my love handle and slowly gravity took him down and I might have screamed. His intention wasn't to hurt me so I am not concerned about him doing this to the baby. Just his need to be held and wanted help off of the fridge?

Did anyone elses cats start going insane during the third trimester?
