My dad is just plain cute, on the outside he is a big scary biker/machinest/tattoo artist but since the day my daughter was born she had him wrapped around her little fingers. He has an entire album of pictures on facebook dedicated to her, which is kinda a big deal because he only has a few other pictures on there. And he always plays with her and chases her around the house.... My dad spoils my son so much! He is the only boy in the family (my parents had 3 girls, and I am the only one with a child). He likes to have "Papa grandson day" where he takes him for the day and does fun things with him. The cutest thing ever though was DS wanted to play with Barbies, and he got a hold of some of my old ones, and I walked into the living room and my dad was sitting on the floor with DS playing Barbies! Well, we've been really REALLY wanting to do the back half of our house for forever now, and as soon as we told him we were expecting, he started making plans right then and there to get started on the babies room, the spare bathroom, and the spare bedroom. And we're getting close to being finished now. My dad is generally a reserved engineer-type, but get him around a baby or a toddler and he turns into a gooey pile of mush. He gets down on the floor to play and just wants to be close to them. It's the cutest darn thing.<br /> Now that I'm pregnant, he's still quiet, but he's adorably excited. Not long after we told him we were expecting, he forwarded me a story from NPR about labor playlists. Today I was talking to him and he gets all excited to tell me that his spreader (he works in construction/landscaping - its something used to spread fertilizer over LARGE areas (not just a little push one)) died and as he was about to bring it to the junkyard since it was really old and not salvageable he noticed it had really nice tires on it. So he saves the tires, guess what for...</p> <p>A go-cart for his grandson, haha. Mind you, his grandson isn't even born yet! And he starts going on and on about how he's gonna build his grandson the go-cart he always wished HE had when he was a kid.</p> <p>My Dad had three daughters and then married into 2 step-daughters so having a boy in the family is a huge deal for him. It's actually the silver lining to me having a boy despite the fact that I wanted a girl more than anything. But the funniest thing is, knowing my Dad he'll probably start building this go-cart this winter (which is the slow season for my Dad) and will be so excited even though WHAT THE HECK is an infant going to do with a go-cart!?!</p> <p>Have your parents done anything cute/funny since you've become pregnant? </p>
