@mediagirl: Luckily our friends with kids are very much pet/dog people so they are very comfortable with our dogs going up and sniffing their babies' feet and things like that. In fact, I think both sets of parents of the babies on Sunday were more trusting of our dogs than I was at first because I was just so nervous!

that's awesome!! I haven't invited any friends with kids over intentionally...I'm afraid of how our dogs will act! Plus, all of our friends with kids are totally anti-dog. Boo.

that's so awesome!

i have a dog who is a bit crazy, and i was so excited when she did well with my friends 2 month old a few weeks ago - she licked her toes for about 10 minutes, and then just sat next to me & her while i was holding her

it definitely calmed my nerves a bit as to how she is going to be when we have kids

My husband and I had a cookout yesterday which included two little boys (ages 4 months and 9 months). My dogs have met the younger baby before (when he was 8 weeks old and pretty much slept in his mom's arms) but it was a first with the older baby, who is crawling now and much more interested in the dogs. I was nervous, but my dogs did SO WELL.

Helo followed C (9 months) while he crawled around the living room and occasionally walked by D (4 months)'s carseat and sniffed his toes. Charlie, as expected, couldn't care less about the kids after she discovered they couldn't throw her frisbee. She did sit sweetly while C "petted" her though and it was adorable.

My husband has been so nervous about how our crazy dogs will do with future-babies, but after seeing them with the boys yesterday he is so much more at ease. He actually called his mom today and told her all about how well the dogs did and how cute they were with the babies. :)
