@2littlepumpkins: she's been on antibiotics for more than 48 hours now and I asked her today of they are still crinkling, she said no. She is definitely acting like she feels better!

And now I'm becoming a paranoid mama and think the baby has croup because she's hoarse and has a funny cough... but I'm pretty sure I'm just paranoid.

Sorry she has an ear infection. :( I have the "crinkling" sound now as I'm getting over a cold.. but only when swallowing. I guess she must be hearing it all the time? Hope she is feeling back to normal soon! I dislike cold and flu season.

Just to update this- ear infection. I feel a little bad I didn't bring her in sooner. But yay for medicine! The doctor said she could see little bubbles in the infection which would perfectly explain the crinkling.

@Truth Bombs: yeah I'm pretty sure it's not really painful for her yet or infected. Her whole personality changes with an ear infection. Today she's just tired and a little cranky (like we all are wth a cold). Fingers crossed.

Yep I also often have "crinkling" in my ears when I'm congested but for me it only turns into an infection less than half the time. Most of the time it's just annoying vs actually painful.

@SweetCaroline: @lady baltimore: huh- I have never thought of it as "crinkling". I'm really hoping it's not an ear infection after the week she (we) had but I guess time will tell. poor kiddo.

Aw, poor thing! My ears "crinkle" like @lady baltimore: -- when I swallow when I have a cold. I'd guess she has fluid in her ears, whether it's infected or not is the next fun game to play. :( Good luck mama!

Poor little thing! My ears sometimes "crinkle" when I am congested - they actually make a little crackling sound when I swallow. It usually means I have an earache coming on.

My 3 year old keeps telling me her ear is crinkling. She's got a cold now, congested cough and stuffy nose. Sonim guessing her ear is popping? She also sometimes says her ears hurt but she tends to say it whenever she feels crummy- a throwback to when she had ear infections for six months straight. I brought her in to the pediatrician last time just in case but ears were perfectly clear then.

Have your LOs ever said that? Poor kid has had a rough few days- little cold and cough, then a stomach bug that thankfully only last about 12 hours, and now a worse cough and cold.
