@YogiBeachWife: She wanted me to go every week for a little while since I first started seeing her just a few weeks after my loss and my hormones were crashing. I went every week for a few months, but I now go every other week. I just started taking herbs that she recommended as well so we'll see what happens.

I've heard about the clamps to help stimulate the area, that sounds good! It can be a little uncomfortable at first, especially when you can feel the needles going in. I think the more you go the more you get used to it. I'm still not crazy about getting needles in my feet since they usually hurt a bit going in.

@PeaceLily: So sorry about your loss. Does she want you to have a session every week? I had my first appointment today. She ended up putting two needles where my ovaries would be and put these tiny clamps on them which stimulated the area. I think there were 12 needles total. I hope I become more relax during the sessions, it was an interesting feeling.

@CatchAFallingStar: Thank you! I'm giving it a shot and will look into Circle & Bloom.

@pachamama: I need to work the meditating part! lol Thanks!

Chiming in that acupuncture may have helped get me pregnant but I doubt it was the needles.,. Rather I meditated and had a little therapy chat with my acupuncturist!

@YogiBeachWife: Hi! I did stick with it. However, a lot of variables went into me getting pregnant. I think it really helped me to relax and might have helped my lining thicken a bit. I also had acupuncture during pregnancy. I had an IUI cycle, which is what worked for us. I went more often during that cycle and listened to Circle & Bloom while I had the acupuncture treatments. Best of luck to you!

I got pregnant last summer the first month I did acupuncture. I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence, but I like to think that it helped.

I started seeing a different acupuncturist this year to help get my body and hormones back to normal after my loss at 19.5 weeks. I think she definitely helped get things back on track quicker, but I haven't gotten pregnant yet unfortunately.

Acupuncture is very relaxing though and I do think it has the ability to help straighten out hormones, which can help with fertility.

The acupuncturist last year told me I was blood deficient and put needles in specific points in my stomach to help with blood flow to my uterus. The one I go to now never puts any needles in my stomach. I kind of wish she did, but I trust her and plan to stick with her for at least a few more months.

Good luck!

@erinbaderin: Great to hear! :) Thanks for chiming in! I'm trying to stay positive that this may work for me - time will tell.

@periwinklebee: Relaxing is always a good thing! Good to hear regarding helping your spotting issue. Btw - thinking of you and sending positive vibes for a healthy pregnancy. XO

@YogiBeachWife: I've been going off and on to a group place since last Sept or so. I don't know if it helped with TTC or not, but it is very relaxing. I think it did maybe help with luteal phase spotting, which I was concerned about.

I know this is an older thread but...

Hi @CatchAFallingStar! Thanks for sharing. Did you stick with the acupuncture? Did it help with getting pregnant? I have my first appointment with an acupuncturist tomorrow. Hoping to lengthen my LP.

@HolisticMama: My acupuncturist warned me against Vitex. She said it can really mess up the cycle.

@CatchAFallingStar: I also love my acupuncturist. She studied under this woman:
http://www.eastwindsacupuncture.com/how-acupuncture-can-assist-with-infertility

So I was pretty excited to discover that, because that woman is also married to my reproductive endocrinologist. LOL.

Are you going once or twice a week?
I also have been thinking about clomid and vitex. There is a fertility herbal mix at my herbalist that has vitex in it, but I am pretty positive that I am ovulating and my cycle is pretty consistent and regular. I don't think I should mess with it.

Well, I had my very first acupuncture appointment today. It went really well!

For the first 1/2 hour or so, we just sat and talked about my lifestyle, eating habits (which I admitted aren't great), exercise, cycles, etc. She recommended switching a few things out such as using coconut oil instead of olive oil. She also recommends whole milk products, which must be organic. She said that farm fresh, local eggs are SO MUCH better for us and nutrient rich than the store bought, processed ones. I guess that's obvious, but I never really thought about it. She said to do my best to eat more organic, REAL food and less pasta, bread, fast food, etc. (obvious, but sometimes I need the reminder)

The acupuncture itself did't hurt at all and it was relaxing. I felt a little nauseated after and really tired, but I think that's pretty normal. My only complaint was that the room was too cold.

Hoping acupuncture will help me get pregnant! I'd much rather pay $65/week for a natural approach than throwing $800+ onto IUI or $20,000+ for IVF!!

Oh, she also said that she doesn't think I should be taking Clomid or Femara because I already ovulated on my own and it could mess that up for me. But, she reminded me that she's not a doctor and that's a decision I'll need to make. My gut says that she's right.

Let me know if you have any questions about my experience!
