We keep the shades open and I usually have the tv/radio on as background music. She also gets woken up every 3/4 hrs during the day for a feeding.

I would limit daytime naps and woke her up from naps to keep her on schedule and eating every 3-4 hours.

Interesting...I never woke up my baby...But maybe because she never slept like that! I don't have any advice about fixing her days/nights. I think that with time it naturally adjusts.

I don't have too much advice. LO is also 4 weeks old. I've just been trying to keep the house bright and noisy during the day and then dim and quiet at night so she learns night from day. We also only swaddle her at night. She also eats every 3 hours during the day and I try to keep her awake as much as possible during the day. She sleeps pretty consistently from about 8pm to 2am.

Charlie kind of set her own schedule pretty easily, so I don't have much more advice than that. :/

I make sure to wake my baby for a feeding at least every 3 hours during the day, all the way up until my bedtime of around 10 PM. After that we switch to nighttime routine. We never wake her in the night -- we let her wake us. We put her down in her Pack N Play in a swaddle, keep the lights turned off (or on but very dim during a feeding), and we play white noise on her sleep sheep while she's falling asleep. Sometimes I need to give her a binky while she's falling asleep too.

From that routine, we seem to have successfully taught our daughter that nighttime is mostly for sleeping. She is also 4 weeks old.

That makes sense.
When you would wake her is there a certain time frame you would keep her up for before letting her nap again?

We did not let our daughter nap longer than 3 hours at once during the day (unless she was sick or something).

My daughter has been sleeping a solid 6 hours for a while... around night time.

Yes she sleeps a lot during the day as well. In fact she is mostly asleep!

However, she has been in the habit of being up anywhere from 10pm and on all the way until 3am and last night she slept from 9pm until 12am but then stayed up until 5am - she then slept until 10am. woke up for a bottle and then went to sleep again and is still sleeping now at 1230pm.

I get decent sleep however its at the wrong hours! Is there a way to help change this NOW? I am still off on maternity leave but I would like to get in the habit now!

any tips?! She will be exactly one month old on Friday. 5/4/12.
