The Snap & Go was great for quick errands with a sleeping newborn. I didn't really like to do long walks in it, as I avoided extended time in the car seat. We *really* like our City Mini, but babywear a lot, too.

We have the snap & go for our car seat, the Chicco Keyfit Caddy, and I think it's great. We also have the City Mini but only used it with her car seat once. We just started using it reclined without the seat snapped in - she's 3 months. I'm hoping we'll get more use out of it when the weather warms up, but right now for indoor use like the mall, the snap & go is perfect.

Thank you for all the advice! I'm thinking if I can't jog this summer anyways I will probably just not buy one. If I don't like baby wearing for walks or find it impractical I can always buy a stroller later, but I don't want to risk getting one now and have it be a waste of money and space for me.

We have Chicco's snap-and-go equivalent that we've used with our infant seat (even still occasionally at nearly a year!) and a Bob Revolution. The snap and go is awesome while they are still in an infant seat since it's so easy to fold and lightweight. We got our Bob for a great price at Kohl's so once he was bigger we use that for walks/mall etc (I haven't been jogging yet with it...) We also baby-wear a lot so I figured if we were only buying one main stroller I wanted the option for jogging.

@scg00387: The bunting is nice. It took a little figuring, but it's on our Bumbleride for the rest of the winter. LO was nice and warm after playing in the snow at the park. We didn't have much choice in the Bumbleride because my parents got it for us after getting one for my brother a year before. I can't say enough good things about the Bumble. Also, the Britax stroller caddy works with it as my dad left our cup holder at their house.

@cascademom: same!

I love our Bumbleride. It has bike tires and goes over anything - I used it daily, sometimes three times a day for walks. Carseats can be strapped in for the early days. I babywear and love babywearing, but wouldn't trade my stroller for suburban walks and hiking any day!

we only have the Bob revolution SE and love it. We drive most places, and baby wear in stores/around town, etc.. When she was a baby we got the Chicco attachment, and could just drop the car seat in. We transitioned her to the stroller seat at around 4months, and used an infant support pillow until she held her head up. I didn't jog with her until she was 6 months old. Its a great stroller- we use it for walks a lot and I jog with it from time to time (even in the winter- the weather shield works really well!). I store it in the back of my Toyota matrix (we live in a small, second story apartment). I highly recommend it, and it sounds like it would meet your needs, assuming you got a car seat that you could get an attachment for.

I'd say Snap N Go. I found it useful for the infant phase. Big stroller after that would be a Bob or Bumbleride. I love our Bumbleride so much.

BOB! I planned to baby wear. Alas, my baby was not a fan but loved/loves stroller walks. We were using it the first week she was born with the car seat attachment. I have walked miles upon miles with that thing! It is expensive, but it's hardcore and baby doesn't wake up when going over bumps, cracked sidewalks etc. I will start jogging with her in it at six months. Hopefully, your baby will like to be worn but I think the stroller is easier for long walks. I walked several hours each day my LOs first two or three months. I still use it at least once a day, usually twice. Look on Craigslist!

Just remember with the BOB, they are only compatible with some bucket seats, not all.

Your body may not even be ready to jog at 6 months. :P I think you can use the BOB earlier if they are in the bucket seat. They just can't be in the stroller earlier than that because of the lack of support. I am pretty sure i took LO out earlier than 6 months because i used the stroller for strollercize indoors, and ran on smooth terrain (i.e., on the sidewalk and not on the trails). I really liked my BOB for runs and long walks because it has great shock absorption and is suuuuuch a smooth ride for both the baby and you. LO would fall asleep within minutes of taking her outside. If you want one for long walks or jogs, i would consider the City Mini or the BOB. The BOB has great resale value.

Do you know what car seat you are getting? Definitely get something you can use with the car seat. We got a graco car seat and literider stroller. I wanted a light weight stroller and figured the snap and go would be a waste of money because I'd need to buy another stroller after he grew out of the infant seat. We also got a britaxe b ready because it can be converted to double but I often prefer to use the graco because its so much smaller and lighter.

I would def recommend getting at least a snap n' go for now. You never know if you'll need someone else to take baby somewhere or if you'll be on your own at times and not able to baby wear. And picking a stroller was an extremely stressful decision for me as well. There are just so many options and it's hard to tell the differences between many models. I ultimately chose a stroller based on the overall width and basket size since we decided it would live in our small entryway and it's pretty much our car since we live in the city. So the uppababy cruz won for us. We've been really happy with it so far, but our needs are much different than yours.

I baby wore a lot, we bought a stroller but it was a waste! My LO is 15 months old and we've only used it maybe 3 times? I would wait to purchase until your LO is here. You won't be able to start jogging with them in the stroller until they are older anyways.

if you do plan on jogging, the bob revolution is a great jogging stroller, but you can't use it until 6 months. you could probably find one used on craigslist.

the front wheel of the city mini tends to pop off after a lot of use (it happened with two of ours), and it isn't a jogging stroller though if you have smooth pavement it should be ok for long walks/light jogging.

I don't think you can job until 6 months or more-- they need full upper body control first. So I personally wouldn't worry at all about getting a jogging stroller until after baby is born.

If you don't think you will use a stroller much, you could just get a Snap and Go stroller base for the infant seat (assuming you are getting an infant seat). Super easy to snap in and it's small and light and easy to get in the car. Not the smoothest ride but on paved walkways it's fine.

And i totally hear you on being overwhelmed with the gear! I thought I'd love it too, and while I loved researching a few things, it was mostly just totally overwhelming.

I was overwhelmed by this kind of research too, and I hadn't found hellobee yet! :) We went to Target, looked at the strollers we could actually afford, and picked the color/pattern we liked best.

It's an Eddie Bauer travel system. It works fine, I don't use it too often. Perfect for walks around the block. If I wanted to run, I'd need something else, but you're not supposed to use a jogging stroller until a certain age anyways.

So I totally thought I'd enjoy researching and shopping for gear… I was wrong. I actually didn't even think I wanted a stroller because I plan to baby wear as much as possible and we live in the 'burbs. I got to thinking today though, that with her being due in May and my having all summer off for maternity leave, I may want the option of doing longer walks or walk/jogs around the neighborhood. I'm not really a runner but I've done c25k a few times and I do find that doing walk/jog intervals is an easier exercise for me to find time to actually accomplish. I assume I shouldn't jog with a baby strapped to my chest though…. that whole not shaking a baby thing :)

So, recommend a stroller? Definitely looking for something cost-effective because I don't think we'll use it except for trips around the neighborhood. I don't know if I need a jogging stroller or not? I do plan to jog a little with it, but nothing hardcore. Our development has paved sidewalks, if that matters.
