@MrsBrewer: totally ridiculous.. for the first few things I didn't realize what they were and thought it was all the same, so I just paid my insurance company. then I paid a 'balance' I had at my OB's office because they told me I had a balance when I arrived one day, only to find from my insurance that it was something that I covered and I shouldn't have paid it. so confusing, I hate it.

@rachiecakes: That is soooo annoying! I had that happen too though when I had an x-ray! One from the hospital, one for the radiologist who read the x-ray, and then a bill from my main Dr to "give me the results".....scams...

Mine sucks too, but my employer just switched over to BCBS. I had a 3K $ deductible. I had SCH when I first found out I was PG and had to pay all that out of pocket, while paying for doctors visits to "bank" our 1500/deposit for L&D at the same time...which isn't going to this year's deductible since it starts over July 1! Ugh!

ugh! and YES I feel your pain..
my insurance changed when I was halfway through my pregnancy and up until then I had a plan that was expensive but everything was covered. with this new plan I get bills from anyone and everyone! for example - when I would get an ultrasound, I would get a bill from the hospital, then from my insurance and then from the ultrasound technician and yes, had to pay each one! so crazy... I hate how insurance companies operate :/

I did for a while. I was on Loestrin too, and it was amazing! I wasn't paying what you were though. Then I found out how to get the savings card and it cut my payments down to $35.

PM me if you want the info!

UH that sucks! We also have crappy coverage for name brand prescriptions.... but the insurance itself is free to us so I can't complain about it.

Ugh-- that is really brutal. I thought my $100 copay for 3 month supply was bad. Do you have a flex spending account? That can help off set the costs at least, although it's still quite a lot!

So I just switched jobs like 2 months ago, and I was told the benefits were to die for! I was so excited because before I was on a high deductible health plan and all that. Well the dr visit coverage isn't all that bad ($30 co-pay) but my prescription portion is HORRIBLE.

It tooks me 5+ years to find a birth control pill that worked for me, I have REALLY heavy periods, terrible PMS, bad cramps (to the point of vomiting because of pain) and I found a birth control (Loestrin 24 FE) that works amazing with me. Well there aren't any comparable generics available, and I just found out today that my insurance covers 0% because it is in the 3rd tier in our plan, which means the most expensive. So Now I will have to pay right around $120/month to be on it besides paying $300/month for my health insurance coverage. This just seems so unfair :-( It's not my fault they don't offer generics.

Has anyone else had this problem with their health insurance?
