My LO is similar (50% weight, 10% height) and one trick I learned was to get capri length leggings in the next size up. They look like regular length on my LO! I also always buy leggings because you can just bunch them at the ankle. She only has one pair of actual pants and I roll them but they always come down and she trips on them.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Yep, it's super easy, especially on fleece type fabrics. Just cut, roll, pin and sew.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: haha the rolls don't bother me- I think it's so cute and as long as they aren't tight on her tummy I think she's ok. You could try baby legs at home too but probably it doesn't make sense to buy them at this point. The ruffle butt leggings at old navy fit c well without seeming too tight.

@Foodnerd81: I've been doing just a onesie or shorts too, but now it's (finally!) cooled down here, so the house is cooler so I have been doing pants because her legs get cold. The leggings I have seem so tight! Haha. I can see all her rolls through them so I hope she's not uncomfortable.

Also now that she's craeling she will probably start to slim down a little again, since she'll be burning through those calories crawling all over. And early crawling days I just did onesies or shorts with bare legs inside a lot, so she could get more traction on the wood floors. But it was warmer then.

I put her in a lot of leggings- the ankles are so tight they just bunch up around her ankles instead of dragging. Stiffer pants like jeans I roll. Loose soft pants are the worst and I just don't bother since she slips on them.

I find old navy runs a little shorter than other brands so it works well on my short chubster.

I roll pants and sleeves up. It's not my favorite look, but the clothes come from the grandparents so I deal with it aesthetically.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Target and online. It runs big on DD so consider sizing up!

@twodoghouse: Haha, love it. :) Maybe when she's walking I'll start hemming them. Thanks for the recs on brands! Gap used to be so baggy on her, but I think she'll fit much better in it now. Where do you buy Oshkosh? We don't have a store here.

I roll them! Certain brands work better for her, too. Oshkosh, Gap, Old Navy and Circo work better for her lengthwise, whereas Carter's fits her long, lean brother better. Maybe if she stays this way in the future, I'll learn to hem them, but DD is only 6 months so doesn't stay in a size long. Also I'm a mom of twins - ain't nobody got time for that!

@looch: You hem them yourself? Eek, my sewing skills are basic at best. Grammy might have to do some hemming for me! haha.

I hem the pant legs. I just did a bunch for my son this weekend, he needs the waist for 5T, but they're about 3 inches too long.

My DD has exploded in weight the past couple months, going from the 14th percentile to 75th! But her height is in the 12th. She's 9 months and crawling. I put 12 month circo pants on her and they fit in the waist but not the length. Parents of short and stout kids, what do you do about clothes? Just roll up sleeves and cuff pants?

Also, my girl who's a crawling machine, keeps slipping on the hard floor and going flat. She gets mad when she has trouble getting back up. Anything I can get/do to help with that?
