He told me not long ago hd was not detected routinely, but that they have found that a lot of/most people who have to have an "early" (before age 60) hip replacement actually had hd when they were born. They ended up monitoring it and she didn't end up needing any additional intervention. So common that our pediatrictian requires ultrasounds for all breech babies at 6 weeks. So yesterday we went for the ultrasound and found out that our LO's left hip has some minor hip dysplasia. We see an Orthopedic doctor later this month to begin treatment. I'm not overly worried but I am sad for the poor little thing. I know it doesn't hurt her, but I just want her to be completely healthy. It helps that she's getting treatment at Children's Hospital in Boston too, which is one of the best. It gives me such peace of mind.</p> <p>Did anyone else's LO's have this problem? If so, can you tell me how treatment went? I'm curious to see too how many other breech babies had this problem. </p>
