@sslm: Oh, haha, well, I'm not sure in that case. What I do with Xander if I'll feed him around 6:00 and he goes to bed around 7:00, then I do a dreamfeed (that often kind of wakes him up) at 9:00 and he'll sleep until 5:00 when he's hungry again, then sleep for another hour or two and up for the day at 7:00. I'm not sure if this is helpful to you at all. :)

ETA: It definitely sounds like she's eating plenty though! If she doesn't want to eat first thing when she gets up in the morning, I wouldn't worry about it.

@Adira: last night she slept 6 hours, then ate, then went back down for 4, then didn't eat until she'd been up for almost 2 hours! I wish I could get two 6 hour stretches but I'm not sure how to make it happen?

She's nursing lots during the day, at least every 2 hours, sometimes more. I guess it just freaks me out when she acts like I'm torturing her when trying to nurse in the morning!

@sslm: Xander started sleeping through the night at that age and would go 6-7 hours without eating, so I think it's normal. Your LO is just doing it more in the morning instead of overnight. If she's happy and peeing enough, try not to worry about it! Maybe since she can go that long without eating, you can try to get her to do it all while she's sleeping so you can get a good stretch of sleep too?

This is so weird, but mine (15 weeks old) is like this in the morning. We are actually counting ounces today to see if she's getting her 28 oz in or not.

SO WEIRD!

anyways, no advice. Just the same thing over here.

Does she want to just play when she wakes up? Or is she still tired? I try not to worry when A doesn't want to eat, especially if he's doing ok in the diaper department. As many have reminded me, they know what they need.

I probably wouldn't worry too much. She's big enough to go that long without eating (my DD frequently goes much longer than that overnight) and she's probably making up for it over the rest of the day.

If you're really concerned, do you have well-baby drop-ins in your community? We have them here..they're run by the health unit and staffed by public health nurses and you can feed and then weigh your baby.

Definitely curious how old she is. If she's still having plenty of wet diapers, you probably don't need to be concerned. Xander (4.5 months) goes 7+ hours without eating.

How old is she?

As long as she is having plenty of wet/dirty diapers she's probably just fine. She likely makes up for it with other feedings.

ETA: You could always have you Ped check out her weight/growth if that would help with any anxiety (and to make sure that she is gaining as expected).

It's been going on a while now. LO refuses the breast when she wakes up most mornings. It means she goes 5-6 hours without feeding and it's starting to worry me. She typically eats fine the rest of the day, although lately if I try to feed her and she's not hungry she freaks out.

She's still dirtying lots of diapers (4+ poops) but I can't help but worry she's not getting enough. I have no idea if she's gaining weight because our scale really sucks. I figure she's gained roughly 2 lbs in 5 weeks.

Any thoughts?
