I had a miscarriage 8 years after my first birth, it was painful, bloody, and traumatic, so much blood and cramping. One year later we had our second baby with no more blood/clotting than to be expected. Two years later our third baby came and I hemorrhaged, and almost needed a blood transfusion. I don'the believe that had even one little thing to do with my miscarriage, I am however anemic, have you been checked for that? I am very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar experience of the juggling act for a few weeks, and then 2 rounds of misoprotol and a miscarriage at 9 weeks . I didn't experience quite that much bleeding as you describe, but there were a lot of clots and the pain was awful . I took the heavy duty meds they gave me for 2 days and stayed in bed.

That all being said, I have a 2 year old and the pain and bleeding after birth were far less significant than the miscarriage . I only took ibuprofen and it was fine.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like it was really traumatic. My first miscarriage was helped along by misoprostol at 10 weeks and I had a similar experience to you (minus the ER visit, obviously). I had my LO a year later and had a completely normal birth with nothing traumatic. I did bleed afterwards (everyone does) but it was nothing worse than a period.

Personally, I found my miscarriage to be much more traumatic than birthing my daughter.

Nope, not at all. Though my losses were early, so it's a bit different. No traumatic bleeding after birth.

Honestly my first miscarriage which was natural was more painful than giving birth. Part of it was because I didn't take any pain meds which I should have and part of it because it was such a sad experience that the physical pain seemed magnified. It sounds like you had quite a bit more blood than I ever had so I can't really comment on that. All I can say is that giving birth is worth all the pain and blood because you get this wonderful baby in the end. Don't let your mc stop you from your journey. I'm very sorry for your loss.

First, I am so sorry for your loss and traumatic experience. I had a D&C after my second loss so I don't know about blood loss after a miscarriage but I did pass HUGE clots after giving birth. Like the size of a hot dog in a bun (sorry, that's so gross.) Some people have miscarriages very similar to births, it all depends.

So Thanksgiving weekend I had a miscarriage (my first and only pregnancy) and it was the most horrible experience of my life. I was playing a juggling act with my doctors (getting a second opinion at 8 weeks) and long and the short of it, I lost my baby at 10 weeks. I was at 6 weeks gestetional sac with fetal pole but no heartbeat. My doctor did tell me to prepare for it because it was coming and if I started clotting and bleeding heavily to go to the ER. Thanksgiving week I was bleeding light brown here and there and the Friday after thanksgiving my clots started. At first it was here and there but as the day went on it got heavier, but more like a heavier period. On Saturday It got really bad and I clotted badly, I lived on the toilet. Clots were like bigger than a quarter. The pain was so bad, it was the worst pain of my life. My husband quickly took me to the ER and by the time I got there I started having an anxiety attack to boot. I was put on a stretcher and waited to have a vaginal ultrasound. They asked me for a urine sample I told them I would try my best because I was bleeding so much. I ended up delivering the baby in the sample cup to my trauma...

My question is, I know everyone is different, but will giving birth be similar for me?

My MC experience was so bloody, clotty and traumatic, 3 months later, I'm flip flopping between trying again and just forgetting about it entirely. I'm so scared to bleed and clot like that again. WhIle I was cleaning myself up before my ultrasound at the ER, a fist size clot (not joking on size..) came out. Never had I had something so big come out. The doctors said my blood was low but it was normal given the fact that the uterus makes extra blood during pregnancy. That made me feel a bit better but I'm still scared... He also asked me if I had a history of clots and I don't. Just my period is a bit irregular and I do clot a bit when it's heavy so I'm not sure if that will play into the way my body works for pregnancy or birth...
