I had my stitches and a suppository but the only pads I used for my excess bleeding were external. </p> <p>I was 4 checked out every day, just to make sure the stitches looked ok. That is crazy. Seriously. I am super blessed...I had third degree tears, an episiotomy and am mega, mega bruised and just some minor soreness-like a 2 on the pain scale. My mid-wife checked out my stitches 1 day pp, everything was fine. Then memory-impaired mid-wife checked me out the next day and "applied" disinfectant (I seriously thought she had just dabbed at the tear I had no idea she put a compress in me!) and the next day I left the hospital. My next normally scheduled appointment is for 6 weeks pp so this situation could have gone on for another 2 weeks if I hadn't realized what happened and called my mid-wife!</p> <p>@everyone: thank you for your concern! My abdomen kept getting more and more sore and I couldn't figure out why. At 3 weeks pp, I came down with a quick, HIGH fever and chills. I had to go in to the ER and I was admitted for 4 days. The midwives asked how everything was "down there" (vague hand gesture included) when the checked on me in the recovery ward, but no one ever looked.
