DD is 4 months old, I have been working out at the gym since she has was 8 weeks old. I feed her go straight to the gym put her in creche, work out while she is awake have a quick shower there and take her home for a nap. She is EBF so I just work around her, and DS is easy going too.

If I ever do a work out at home I just do it while she is awake and give her some tummy time on a mat.

I also have a 2 year old toddler and when I work out I do the same with him as DD.

Other times I'll go to the gym after I put DD to bed and DH will be in charge of getting DS to bed.

Working out makes me feel good so I just schedule around it :-)

@Boogs: ugh it sucks doesn't it... I was going to the chiropractor for it and it stopped helping so I quit :( well it would help for a week then revert. It makes life with a baby so hard because I can only sit on the floor to play with him for so long before it hurts really badly.

There are actually certain workouts I can't do because of it.

I used to workout during DD's first nap and then shower at the next one. Or I would workout while she was playing and shower at the nap.

@Mrs. Pen: My sciatica didn't either, it's horrible! I'm actually hoping that working out will end up helping with it. My DH likes to fall asleep early and wake up early, so it's always a battle to make him stay up late with me lol.

@hilsy85: last time he woke up in the middle of my workout! I think he is slowly transitioning to one nap because he used to take solid 1.5-2 hour naps twice a day and now it's half hour naps twice a day. This weekend I plan to keep him up to see if he takes one nap in the afternoon. Man I miss those early days of three hour naps!

@Boogs: haha my DH is the same way as me! it doesn't help that he works until 10 three nights a week. I also treasure those hours to myself in the evening.

@sorrycharlie: lol!! That happens to me a lot simply because my sciatica never really went away :(

Lol here is my current problem with working out. Embarrassing.

I was holding LO and kind of dropping us to the floor over and over because she was laughing so hard, well now I can't get up and down my stairs!! How do I care for her alone if I can't move?! No more exercising for me! ;)

@Mrs. Pen: Me too! DH always makes fun of me for keeping such a weird schedule as he calls it. But, I so treasure my quiet time in the night as well as sleeping until LO sleeps in the morning. :)

@Boogs: hahaha me too! I'm up until midnight every night. I am incapable of falling asleep any earlier- and if I try, it will only make me stay up longer. Ugh. So no! Not an option hahaha! Thank goodness I'm a SAHM :-P

I like it! But I've only done two days.

@Mrs. Pen: I can't work out with my LO, it's a HUGE pain. But, when he was smaller I would sit him on the bathroom floor with toys and he would play while I took at least a quick shower. Or, do you have the option of getting up earlier to workout and shower. I'm too much of a night owl to make that happen, lol, but if you're more of a morning person maybe that could work?

How are you liking the 30 day shred? I really need to start working out, but I need to find a good workout I can stick to.

@Mrs. Pen: Yeah, I tried having her in the bathroom with me and it didn't help. So I put a sesame stree show in netflix and just made it fast. Think of it as taking care of yourself makes you a better mama for him in the long run. Confession: I have no sympathy for her woe is me cry either!

@prettylizy: I would be okay with it- he is 10.5 months so when he cried cause I set him down its not because he's hurt of has a need lol. Sometimes I laugh when he does his little woe is me cry hahaha! Bad mom :-/ but I guess I just feel bad doing that. Oh and our bathroom is teeeeny so there would be nowhere to set him up that he could see me :(

@MamaBehr: yeah I used to shower with him in the room but now that he is mobile he wouldn't sit in a chair or pnp! I've taken him into the shower with me but its so much extra work especially afterwards!

Oh and if I try to workout while he plays he decides its fun to climb my leg or whine to be held!

@BelugaBean: ugh I hate working out at night. And the last time I did the person who lives below is banged on the ceiling! Lol

I can't wait for it to warm up. If I go to the gym then I can work out AND. Shower while someone else watches LO!

Do you have a PnP? You could try working out during nap time and shower once Cobi wakes up. Maybe try putting him in the PnP with a few toys right outside the bathroom. You wouldn't get a very long shower, but it would probably buy you enough time to get cleaned up.

Could you work out WITH your LO? Maybe a Mommy and Me yoga DVD or pilates or running with him the stroller (when it gets warmer out hahaha)

Or shower with LO in the room? I shower with my DS in the exersaucer and my DD wandering around the bathroom.

I actually don't really mind working out, going to the gym is a nice way to get out of the house and have someone else watch DS for an hour.

However I've been doing the 30 day shred at home because its been too cold for DH to leave me the car (he often bikes to work so I can have the car)... Okay so my problem is that there is never enough time to workout AND shower all within one naptime. It's one or the other! Today I chose to shower. And while its great to shower I'm also mad at myself for not working out.

I just can't sit in icky sweat and clothes all day, or even half an hour! Ugh....
