Can you try getting different membranes (the little white things in the valves)? I had to change mine very few months to keep the suction up :(

@T-Mom: I'm using the XL flanges.

I went and rented a hospital grade pump from the hospital gift shop. I can already tell a difference!

ETA: Medela is also sending a replacement pump tomorrow, but I didn't want to chance it.

@MarieJ: are you using the same flanges, or different ones? Sometimes the flange size can really influence your output.

@mariej the Pisa isn't a closed system like a hospital grade so probably not. Call any med supply company and they will have a pump to rent.

@T.H.O.U.: I have been using the highest setting. The low settings don't get anything out. I wonder if I could send this stupid pump back.

It sounds like you are stuck with this Pisa now though. What settings are you using? Does it have a faster pulse to help stimulate let down?

@matador84: I carry my Medela Symphony in a soft, black bag instead of the big bulky case as well.

I got my Medela symphony from a med supply store. I carried it in a grocery sack to work instead of in the case.

LO started in the NICU so I had a hospital grade pump. It was great! I was pumping at least 30 oz a day. About two weeks ago, I called the medical supply company to receive a breast pump I could take to work (the hospital grade is too big & bulky to travel with daily) and they sent me a medela PISA, so I sent the hospital grade back. Ok, big mistake. I hate this stupid pump! My breasts can be full and it only gets about 1-1.5 oz out, if that! I'm starting to stress because I just started pumping again on Friday, and LO starts a trial run with daycare on Tuesday to get her familiar with it since I start work on Friday. I'm starting to freak out because I might not have enough milk for her.

What can I do? Ugh, this is stressing me out! I'm going to call around to the hospitals to see if I can rent a hospital grade pump.

ETA: I had a freezer stash but our power went out for a couple of days about three weeks ago and it went to waste :(
