So sorry that you have to go through this. Hoping your LO is okay. This is such a scary experience, and please don't feel guilty or at fault for what happened. Kids are curious, and situations like this happen.

@looch: Sometimes I have irrational fears when it comes to my LO, sadly this isn't one of those times. Eating sharp objects, especially glass tops my list of frightening things. Even if she gets through this in one piece, I don't think I can ever erase the fear out of my mind that it may be still be a piece in there ... even if it's years later.

But she has an appointment soon anyway, so I will bring it up to her doc then. I'm hoping she didn't swallow any and if she did, that is passes without incident.

She's acting normal and running around as usual this morning. I took down the lights and we're going with just felt & plastic ornaments this year.

@mrs. bird: We couldn't find it. I was right next to her, so she didn't go far, but she could just have easily thrown it somewhere.

@wheres_c: Oh no :sad:

I'm laying in bed replaying what happened and Googling stories of other parents with glass eating kids. I've been so careful ... How the hell?! She literally chomped on that thing! As in took her head and bit it without using her hands! Like bobbing apples!

I for damn sure aged 10 years tonight. The next few diaper changes will be nice. I'm wondering if I should save half of the diapers for DH to help sort things out.

There's pieces missing! I just got off the phone with the hotline and they managed to get ahold of a doctor - his advice was to just thoroughly sweep through her mouth and that it'll likely pass if she did manage to swallow a piece. They told me not to worry. Fat chance :sad:

She's sleeping soundly now.

Supergluing it together sounds smart! Once Charlie had just put a pill in his mouth, and I was freaking out until I realized I could just count the old pills and see if there were 50 (since it was a new bottle). Thank goodness there were, and I could relax again!

We were sitting on the couch eating grapes and sweet potatoes when she climbed off and walked to the Christmas tree right beside us. I checked to see what she was up to and she bit through and broke the bulb of larger fake candle-type Christmas light. It was glass! I didn't even know it was glass! I assumed it was plastic since the candle part is plastic. Holy #^&%#!

I asked her to spit it out and she did. She had shards of glass in her mouth! She had one stuck under her lip and once I got that out, I went nuts and checked the rest of her mouth thoroughly. I'm not sure if she managed to swallow any :sad:

She seems fine and isn't fussy or crying. I Googled and it says to just be alert. I feel absolutely horrible! My husband isn't home because it's his Christmas party tonight. I made sure to buy felt and plastic ornaments and didn't even think about the actual lights! Ahhhhhhhhh! I'm about to superglue all the pieces to see if it's all there!

 :sad: :sad: :sad:
