I buy beans in the cheapest store brand possible, because they're all the same. But some things that I notice a difference, like tomato paste, I'll only buy certain brands. All the way. I remember my dad telling me a story about how he went to a sugar packing plant and how at a certain time they simply switched the bags from C&H to the store brand. Some places like Wal-mart and the like, just don't have as good of store brand items, so I'll opt for the name brand in that situation. Some things you have to go name brand for though, like Kraft Mac n Cheese, no contest. Do you folks in the states have President's Choice? There are some things I have to get name brand, just because I've tried the store brand version and didn't care for it,but if the store brand is comparable I will usually buy that to save money.
