The sitters (grandparents) know that it's there because they use it too. I wish I could have a nanny cam so I could see LO throughout the day, but I think since it'd also be filming my in-laws, I'd have to tell them, and that wouldn't go over well or be agreed to. We got them after a break-in in our building, but now I basically use it as a nanny cam. I love our nanny and totally trust her, but I try to check in at least once a day.</p> <p>The cameras aren't hidden, and our nanny knows they are there. No cameras in the bathrooms or our Master bedroom, just the living room/kitchen and the girls' room. Since it's a security system, we also have a log of when there is motion in each room, when the front door or back door opens, if a window is opened, etc. I also check the log from time to time....it's super reassuring, just because I can see she's always home in time for lunch and nap, that kind of thing.</p> <p>For me, there's nothing more precious than my kids. If you did use one, would you tell the person watching your kids or would you keep it to yourself? </p> <p>I'm admittedly super paranoid and we've never had a stranger watch our kids. If I found myself in that situation, I would probably had a hidden nanny cam just to ease my fears. </p>
