@oliviaoblivia: we gave her paid time off for thanksgiving week and had agreed to do the same for Christmas based on our original agreement of her being with us at least a year. But she's suddenly leaving us so we talked about it and she knows that since she's leaving early, the Christmas vacation is off the table. She makes about $750 a week for me, so that is not happening when her last day is next Fri!

Around her Christmas gifts for nannies is usually one weeks pay.
I'd ask around and see what the norm is in your area.

I would probably give cash instead and I would bump it to $200.

I think that's more than generous. But I have no idea what Lulumon is.

Sounds very appropriate to me. I would maybe add a bottle of wine.

I think $100 is pretty good, but I'd also add something from lo, like handprint art or something. We made a handprint bouquet for our nanny when she left... Our nanny was with is a year and we gave her about two weeks pay because she really needed it (was in school) and we loved her.

I think that's a great gift! The only reason why I would maybe bump it up to $200 is because $100 really only gets you one thing at LL....😉

Our amazing nanny that has become part of our family and is absolutely PERFECT in every way, is unfortunately leaving us because her husband got his dream job offer in another city. I'm basically in denial, but her last day is next Friday. So it's happening, no matter how much I pretend like it's not.

What is a nice parting/Christmas gift? She wears LuluLemon every day and I was thinking of giving her a $100 gift card to LL. Is that too little of an amount? I don't really know what's appropriate. She has been with us since July.
