Crazy, but that's okay. Ha. Being a mom sometimes means we are irrational. ;)

Our nanny told me that while they were on a walk one day, she look LO out of her stroller and let a STRANGER hold her!!! Granted, the stranger was an 80+ year old woman who lives in our neighborhood, but still. That was one thing on a long list of bad judgement calls by her, and we eventually chose a different child care situation.

A tad crazy ; ) I imagine that on occasion other nannies or teachers at kids gym / music class might need to hold my son if my nanny needs an emergency bathroom break or something. I'm fine with that.

Okay I think this is a little cra cra too.

But at the same time... maybe your "mommy instincts" are kicking in? If it's really bothering you... something might be going on.

I'm not sure what the next steps would be to check it out though.

yup, irrational. =) When I have a random day off work, I go to our building's community room so LO can play with all the nanny kids (they tend to meet up every day for all the kids to play together). I always see the nannies helping each other with their charges, and I also jump in if a kiddo needs something. I think since they see each other every day, the kiddos are very comfortable with the other nannies helping/playing with them.

I wouldn't give it a second thought. If this friend was solo without your nanny around, that would be weird. Otherwise sounds like there is a great group that your daughter is around for these play dates.

My sister's nanny has a similar group of nannies and LOs that they meet up with every day. It's not unusual to see any of the other nannies helping out - they all kind of watch all the kids. My nephews have even formed attachments to a couple of the other nannies.

I don't think its weird at all and am kind of jealous that my nanny doesn't have a group that she takes LO to hang out with.

Seriously? That's ridiculous. It sounds like she has a great friend. My nanny friends and I love each other's nanny kids and we're always helping each other out. Maybe you could have her host a play date that you can make it to so that you can meet her friends.

@Meowkers: I understand the weird feeling, but I think its irrational  Our LO and her nanny have a similar routine in that they are out and about all the time with other kiddos and their nannies. My experience is that the nannies all help each other out in the same way that you would help out another mom while on a play date. Just an extra pair of hands if needed. Plus it sounds like sounds like they were just trying to take a cute picture for you. I get it though - my husband and I always joke that our daughter has a bigger social circle than we do because of all the nannies and kids she meets up with.

Yeah, sorry it seems a little over the top to be upset about. But, you're paying your nanny to treat your child however you want and are comfortable with.

A little unreasonable :) I think it's pretty great that your LO is getting lots of interaction with other kids! It doesn't sound like your nanny has given you a reason to worry, so try not to... it just puts unnecessary strain on things.

That's crazy, she was probably just trying to help out so she could send you a nice picture. If you trust your nanny's judgment then all should be well :)

Ok I feel like I'm being irrational so I just need someone to tell me that.

We have a great nanny who we trust. Everyday she takes DD for playdates at the park or mall play area. They meet up with other nannies that she is friends with and their kids, as well as some neighbors who our nanny has made friends with. This is a weekly rotation.

Our nanny just sent me a picture of my daughter, her "friend" Emma and Emma's nanny (who is a friend of our nanny.) Emma's nanny is helping my daughter stand while our nanny snaps the picture.

Something about tis just rubs me wrong but I don't know what it is or if I'm being completely crazy. I guess I just feel weird about a person I don't know helping our nanny watch my DD by helping DD stand. Crazy right?
