Mine are different. For nap, all we do is change the diaper, turn off the lights and turn on the fan, and say, "night night, I love you." and put her in the crib.

For bed we do a bath, change into night time diaper and pj's, turn on fan and night light and turn off lights, give LO a bottle, say, "night night, I love you" and put her in the crib.

For naps I turn on the white noise, swaddle, pop in the pacifier and put in crib. If he's fussing more than usual I may stick around to make sure the pacifier stays in. We only use it for naps.

We initially nursed LO for both naps and night time. She was also a better night time sleeper than napper. We actually sleep trained only one of her naps. Once she got the hang of falling asleep on her own for that one nap, we started putting her down awake for her other naps and eventually bed time as well. This wouldn't have worked for my son who was a horrible sleeper over all until we sleep trained him both naps and bedtime all at once.

We never used a nap routine with our oldest, and she still goes to sleep for her nap with just a diaper change, hug, and here's your soother.

When she developed something of a routine I would nurse everytime she woke up and every time she fell asleep. Then when she started dropping feeds we dropped the falling asleep ones first, ending with her nightime feed at around 10 months. So don't feel like you have to make a huge decision about it if you don't want to, these things can ease off over time.

The baby currently thinks her nap routine is never leaving my lap...but she is still just little.

For nap time, I change LO's diaper then sing a few lullabies while I swaddle and rock her for a minute before putting her in her crib. LO typically has a feeding either right when or within 15 minutes of waking up in the morning or from a nap. At bedtime, LO gets a bath and pj's, then I nurse her and swaddle before I put her in her crib. I only starts swaddling after feeding when I got put on antibiotics and had to pump/dump, but I'm hoping to continue so she can fall asleep on her own. Still on antibiotics until Sunday so we shall see if it works once the boob is back!

For naps, I will nurse (but sometimes he will refuse), play soft music on pandora, rock a little with slow patting on the back, and place in crib. For night time, LO will get a bath, lotion and massage, nurse (if hungry), turn on pandora, rock for a little and then put down in crib. I just started getting his routine/schedule down..so far not too bad.

I don't have any good advice b/c my baby is a terrible napper too. I just want to wish you good luck! Even if I follow the same exact routine for naps that we do at bedtime, I still can't get her to take a nap of longer than 30 minutes. Ugh.

Ours was shorter than the bedtime routine which would include a bath, milk, and books. For naps, I put the LO in her sleep sack, turned on her sleep sheep and then left the room.

For night time, LO gets a bath, massage, and I nurse her. But for naps, she gets put in her sleep sack, I rock her for a bit and pat her back, and then in her crib she goes. No nursing.

Is your night routine and nap routine the same?

Z is a good night sleeper but a terrible napper. I am going start nap training tomorrow and don't know if it's a big deal that I nurse her to sleep at night but don't plan on doing that for her naps.

Care to share your nap routine? I'm not looking forward to this!

Wish me luck!
