Yep! I do not like to mess with naps or risk that they may or may not sleep in the car - so I always made it a habit to be home during naptime!

We're still on two naps at 16.5 months so even though I have only 1 DS, I do feel like our wknds (especially) are tied to his naps!

He's been taking a longer first nap tho, and a shorter second nap so I'm hoping we'll be able to condense to one soon!

Well M is new, so I can't chime in too much but I don't intend on nap jail. We have a nice stroller he can lay flat in and DS and I plan to have our usual super fun summer as always.

Second + kids have a tendency to be pretty flexible because of older sibling's schedules.

Absolutely. Like @sunny says, it's either crib or car, and it's tough to time things just right for a car nap with a toddler in the equation. Yesterday he did nap in the stroller while running errands, but it must not have been restful because he screamed for a solid half-hour before passing out for the next one.

I feel your pain. I try to be fair to both kids so some days I let the baby sleep longer at home so that she has her full rest. But other days I wake her up so that we can get going. DD1 has a busy social schedule, lol! She would go crazy being stuck inside, especially now that the weather is finally decent.

I really look forward to the day when DD2 doesn't nap anymore. Yes, I will get less of a break, but it will be easier overall to have 2 non-nappers. Naps have always been inconvenient for DD1's school drop off/pick off times, too.

I totally feel your pain. My LO will only nap in her crib or the car seat if we are driving, so I have to either time it perfectly to be driving or just stay home. When we were on 2 naps we stayed home a lot. :-( Now that we are on 1 nap it's a little easier to get out of the house.

I've been in nap jail since I had to hunker down and really do a nap schedule. Before, she just wouldn't nap out and about. So now that she'll sleep consistently, I stick to the nap jail schedule at least 4-5 days of the week. I can push it maybe 30-60 min. occasionally, like if you need to go to Target, etc. But I truly understand your pain (and I only have 1 LO). I figure it's only for another 6+ months probably and she'll drop to one nap?

My BFF has managed to get her LOs (~3 y/o and 6 months) on the same afternoon schedule: 2-5 pm. Amazing if you ask me. The LO will still take 1-2 short naps (30-40 min.) in the mornings. Maybe you can eventually aim for something like that?

No, that would drive me nuts. I'm probably doing it wrong but my kids just sleep in the car.... During the week when they're home with the nanny they are a tiny bit more scheduled but not really. We're not scheduley.

When you have 2 kids do you feel like you dont get to go out as much because the little one needs to nap still? We had a terrible cold winter and my car had no heat for a while so I didnt care about not going out because it was so cold even in the car. Now that the weather is nicer I want to go out more but find after we get up and everyone is settled and dressed and fed baby needs to go down for her first nap. Aftr she is up somedays I got get ready for work so we cant go out anymore. We do go play outside, my older one and I when baby is sleeping, but I feel bad when I mention the park or library or even Target but then because of the nap thing we get pinned at home. Please tell me its not just me? I could just take baby and maybe she would nap when we are out but I feel like she does need a real nap in her bed too.
