For us, nap mats are definitely worth it. It keeps things nice and enclosed. My LOs started using nap mats when they transitioned to the toddler room around 17/18 months. They sleep on a cot, but use a nap mat on top that is very similar to what you posted, just without the attached blanket since they like their aiden and anais blankets from home. I can't speak more highly of them, they are awesome. 100% cotton fabric, made in the USA: http://www.napmatsetc.com/

The ones you posted from Target look really great too! And very affordable!

At daycare they supply cots and sheets and we supply a blanket. For visiting family and friends we bring an Aerobed sized for kids. We like it because he'll be able to fit it for a long time and sleeps better with a little more padding. http://www.amazon.com/AeroBed-Sleep-Tight-Inflatable-Kids/dp/B00006IV33/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361582354&sr=8-1&keywords=aerobed+for+kids

My lo sleeps on a cot at daycare. We bring a sheet and blanket. We then can wash it easily at the end of the week.

I was just looking at Target and realized that they had some really cute nap mats. I remember nap mats as being primarly used in pre-school and kindergarten but these are more sophisticated than the plastic fold up mats I remember. They have little blankets and pillows attached. I was thinking, one, how smart this is and two, wouldn't it be great to have this as a place that LO could sleep whenever he was visiting someone?

So how old was your LO when you bought one/started using one? Would you have spent the money or just folded up a comforter for them to sleep on? Or just stick them in the PNP?

Here's one I'm coveting right now: http://www.target.com/p/wildkin-olive-kids-robots-nap-mat-blue/-/A-13561744#prodSlot=medium_1_2
