Yes that is my lo. She needs movement to sleep so I have her in the swing a lot and if she wakes up I just leave her. She doesn't fuss, and will fall back asleep within 15 minutes.

ah thanks ladies!

@rubies: we definitely leave him for at least 20 minutes (sometimes 30 minutes) after he wakes up from his catnap.. we'll continue to do that and hopefully he'll adjust and naps well again

@banana: my MIL doesn't seem to mind his catnap and she takes care of him during the day when I work... I just want him to nap well b/c I think it's better for him developmentally... but who doesn't like long naps!?! :)

@tina: thanks tina! we keep him up for 2 hours in between naps already... but we can definitely try to stretch that as well... I can't wait till he passes this phase!

don't worry.. it's a phase... it totally drove me insane when RJ did this!! I would leave him upstairs for a LONG time since he wasn't crying. If you want, you could try consolidating his naps so he'll be more tired when he reaches his next nap time... but most likely it's a phase.

@reggie: My LO is a total roller too. He still rolls around before sleep. But now that he's mobile he tires quickly and then zonks out during his naps. Just hang in there!

@reggie: One hour from the time she naps (if we're talking about the same thing). I'll give you an example:
9:00am - Goes down for a nap.
9:40am - Wakes up crying. I make her CIO
10:00am - After crying for 20 minutes, she falls asleep again
11:00am - Wakes up.

I totally remember this. After 30 minutes, LO would wake up and stir. I would RUUUUUN upstairs and pat him and "shhhh" in his ear and try to get him to go back to sleep. Sometimes it would work and he would sleep another 30-45 minutes and sometimes it didn't work. It was a phase for us though. He now takes one 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon (he's 21 months) and let me tell ya...it's niiiiiice! :) I would say it's a phase and it'll pass!

YES! It's like clockwork...At exactly 30 OR 40 minutes (never in between), LO will wake up and play by herself. I don't go to her, though. I wait until a minimum of one hour has passed since she was put in her crib before I rescue her. BUT sometimes (50/50) from the time she wakes up (let's say, at the 40 min mark) she'll cry and cry and just when I'm about to go get her, she'll actually fall asleep for another solid hour or more!

So, anyway, I wait it out for an hour at the minimum.

For the past two days... LO has been catnapping (30 - 40 mins) because when he wakes up in between sleep phases, instead of going back to sleep, he rolls over and becomes wide awake and just plays in his crib!

He normally has 3 naps a day with the second nap being a 2 hour long nap and the first and third being a 30 min nap.

Anyone experienced this with their LO?
