I'm thinking that he used to nap for long periods of time before because he wasn't getting much night sleep. But now that he's sleeping 12+ hours at night, maybe he's cutting back on his naps?

The only thing that's for sure is that this too shall pass! I remember my son's sleep patterns changing every 2 months. Which is great if the current sleep pattern is horrible.. but it sucks when you have a great sleep pattern and then it changes!!!

I don't have any advice either as we have chosen not to sleep train. But our LO has consistently taken 45 minute naps, no matter what brilliant solutions I try to resolve them, so I understand what it is like to feel like you barely have a break all day! Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!

I have no advice, just sympathy. I keep thinking I have a handle on Wonder Baby's sleep and then it all falls apart again. Why can't they just sleep?

We've been sleeping training DS for the last 5 days. His night sleep has drastically improved. He'll go down between 7-8pm, sleep up to 8 hours, eat and then do down again until 7-8am. It's really great.
Also, we ditched his swaddle starting sleep training, and his nights have been better than when he was swaddled.

BUT now his naps are horrid. He used to be such a GREAT napper. He would take two 2-hour naps each day. It was awesome (or, a 2.5 hr nap, and then a 1.5 hr one). I valued that day time to myself soo much.

But he won't nap longer than half an hour now. Is this a phase that will pass once sleep training is over? I'm not sure what to do.

Yesterday was awful, he was miserable all day because he was sooo tired. I don't want that to continue.
