@Goldengirl: He knows you'll rescue him, be careful, because it might be that he's going to start applying the same to night sleep.

He's might additionally be extremely overtired at night, so once he gets his naps sorted, the night sleep could become an issue.

@looch: Oh no, he's definitely treating them differently because he's doing great falling asleep at night and not crying, but will scream for an hour if I leave him before a nap. I don't think it's that he realizes necessarily, it's just how he's wired, and that the sleep pressure/need for sleep is way stronger at the end of the day.

This is why we had to treat all sleep the same, be it naps or night sleep. I didn't expect my son to realize, oh this is a nap, it's treated differently than night sleep. To him, it's all the same, regardless of the time of day.

@bhbee: That sounds so hard to do it at that age when they're mobile! Kudos to you.

@PawPrints: Thanks :)

Just keep at it. There may be some napless days. It will end!

I sleep and nap trained at 13 months (so may be different) and the nap part took a long time ... like a couple weeks to really get consistent. I just toughed it out and left him in there for about an hour, he wouldn't scream the whole time but didn't sleep either. I put him to bed at 5:30 if nap didn't go well. But ever since he's a decent napper and puts himself to sleep so those weeks were worth it!

LO has been doing great with going to sleep at bedtime after a week of sleep training. Woo! He seemed to be applying it for naps too, but that quickly went out the window and he's back to screaming his face off unless he gets bounced/rocked until passing out. Boo! I know that nap training can be a lot harder and take longer. For those of you who did it, can you share what you did, and what worked? Any tips? I've read that after crying for 30 minutes, go get them and move on until the next nap. But I'm kind of terrified of my guy just not sleeping all day and the total mess he'll become... and I'll become. But I'm SOOO over the bouncing and want him to be happy and rested. Help!
