Just a thought but being able to take a family nap once your new LO arrives could be an amazing tool to have in your toolkit!

I would stay strong with the weaning plan but maybe take naps with her. I think everything at once may be too hard for her and I would try to do one big change at a time. There are still 3 months to go to stop napping with her. Good luck!

My daughter just turned 2 about two weeks ago. Last Friday I started weaning her during nap time. The first few days went pretty well. Only crying for about 20 minutes then asleep for 1-2 hours. Bedtime weaning *knockonwood* we started on Tuesday night and has been going VERY well.

Nap time weaning on Wednesday did not go well. AT. ALL. She cried for 40 minutes, non stop. I finally had to go rescue her and her eyes were all puffy, she had boogers all over her. Her pillow was soaked. I had to rock with her for 35 minutes before she fell asleep.
I think the biggest problem with the nap training/weaning might be ever since I got laid off I have been napping with her in our bed. So DH thinks that coupled with weaning might be a lot of change for her. He suggested that maybe I continue to nap with her since I could use the extra rest too. But I'm just afraid that it's not a sustainable solution for when the new baby arrives in August. But maybe napping with her still but not nursing might be a slower transition.
She does still go to daycare 2 days a week and naps fine there!!!

And she will be going through a lot of changes in the next few months. Between weaning, potty training, going to a big girl bed and having a baby sister arrive in August.

:( I'm just not sure what the best thing to do for her right now and long term is.

WWYD if you were in my shoes?
