<description>&#60;p&#62;naps can be tough! i think you're doing the right thing, starting to put him down for naps in his crib. you can gradually build up the number of times you put him in the crib for a nap. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;at that age, some folks try to do the 2-3-4 schedule.  as in, baby wakes up in morning, stays up for 2 hours and then takes a nap, then stays up for 3 hours before second nap, then stays up 4 hours before bedtime. this assumes at least 1.5 hour naps, which can be a project in itself.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I'm trying to figure out when/how I should try to develop a more strict nap schedule for my 4 month old.  He sleeps in his crib at night, but only really naps in his swing or on his tummy time mat during the day, and also not for too long at a time.  Is this normal?  I actually just put him in his crib for a nap right now because he was extremely over-tired and I knew he needed a REAL nap... I assume this is the first step!  But any other tips for those who aren't huge nappers?
