PnP if inside, stroller if outside. LO almost never napped on me or in a carrier, as others have said.

Before rolling over I would have put her in the middle of a bed.

I will say that the PNP has gotten much easier for me to set up and break down once I did it a bunch of times. I feel you that if you aren't used to it it's a total PITA. But might be best option over time.

@Goldengirl: I usually rock her in her car seat then when she falls asleep I use a pillow, or whatever is handy to angle the car seat and have her next to me. Or, I'll just lay her on the floor or couch beside me to take a nap.
She's just over 4 months old and generally a pretty good sleeper.

I nannied kids 3 days a week when my DS was that age, so he had to nap regularly at their house. Since it was the same house/schedule/etc, we used their pack n play in their guest room for him. We just left it up. Are you at this house regularly? Could you find a cheaper used pnp and leave it put together at their house? I wouldn't have wanted to constantly put up and take down the pnp if it needed to happen on a regular basis!

Both of my kids would've slept on me or in the car seat at that age. We generally plan to leave when it's nap time and baby would fall asleep in the car. We'd carry the bucket seat in with us and put it somewhere quiet.

We would use the PNP. Our LOs always slept so much better if they napped in something that resembled a crib, so it was worth it to bring it wherever and set it up for a good nap!

@Goldengirl: oh I agree the PNP is a pain to set up and take down. However, we used it so much with DD that it isn't an issue anymore. Plus I usually make DH do it  We started our DD sleeping in a PNP when we were out when she was young so she got used to it. DS has only used it a couple of times so far but did fine. I just stopped nursing to sleep recently and I find it way easier to put him down when I'm out. I'm often at friends' houses that have kids and he will sleep in their cribs over there. I can't believe our babies are 6 months now.

I'd just bring the pack n play with you. That way you just won't have to worry at all.
Also a safe spot to put LO down or be able to play in a confined space.

In a carrier or wrap only after 3 months because a pack and play would be a disaster. When ever we were staying somewhere like in laws for an extended period of time we were able to use the pack and play at 9 months for naps. But 3-8 months we as a really tricky time for visiting people.

Like out and about at a friend's house? We used a carrier or wrap from like 0-1 year as needed. Stroller if really desperate and walking around. Our parents both got cribs though so we used that at their house. We also have a travel crib (grave family lotus) that we used when we used to go to friends house late and knew we wanted to hang for a bit. That wa with 1. With 2, now we just go home. 😜

@delight: Yah his days of napping on me are long over unless he's just so overly exhausted that he passes out. Pretty unusual now. I find the PNP such a pain but maybe I just have to get better at it. I took it apart when we moved and found it such a struggle and now I never want to put it back together again! Lol

@Mrs. Sunshine: Ah yah, that definitely won't work for my guy unfortunately!

@KT326: I was definitely thinking the stroller would be easiest, but then was trying to think of an alternative if the weather was crappy or we wanted to stay inside, and I got stumped...

@catgirl: Yah he's 6 months now, too big for RNP. I just find the PNP such a pain to take down/set up and lug around even though the point was for it to be portable!

Or LO's are the same age. Up until now he would just sleep in carrier or I'd nurse him to sleep and hold him for a 30 mi yet nap if he needed one. Recently because the weather is turning nice, I'd just put him in his car seat and take him for a walk if we were at one of our mom's houses. He is down to 2-3 naps a day so I'm trying to time it better so he doesn't need to nap when we go out but I also don't mind carting the PNP around. I think now that he is 6m it will get harder and harder for him to just nap on me.

Until 5 months she just slept on someone, or we would occasionally bring the rock n' play. Around 5 months she had a very predictable nap schedule so we tried to be home or brought the pack n' play with us.

Varied- sometimes car seat or stroller, often carrier, or early (pre rolling over) just flat in the middle of a bed. This is in regards to my second baby- the first never slept anywhere!
