I second @katsupgirl: on wonder weeks being not so great. It feels good when your kid is going through a rough time to be able to finger-point to a "storm cloud" but our baby's actual moods only align about half the time, = no correlation.

I have read in several baby books about separation anxiety showing up around 8 months, maybe another more experienced mom can weigh in on that (I'm a lil behind you, my son is only 7 months now).

The 30-45 min naps are the length of a single sleep cycle. My boo frequently wakes up around 40 mins and often if I leave him he'll go back down for another 45 or 50 minutes--sometimes it doesn't work, and after 15 minutes of fussing I'll just call it and go get him. Also, mine NEVER napped longer than the single sleep cycle until he was about 3.5 months old--good napping correlated with good night sleep, and it all came together at once. his 4th trimester was pretty rough :) So I wonder if your new development has to do with that famous 8 month night sleep regression??

I was never able to figure out how to crack the code. so, lots of empathy

@nugget16: i personally didn't care for the wonder weeks thing. According to the book it seems like they are either cranky cause it's almost a wonder week or that they are in a wonder week. The book depressed me.

My DD would have off sleep if she was working on a skill like crawling. My DS is teething now and that is throwing off his night sleep but not his naps.

My little one is 8 1/2 months old and I think she is going through a wonder week. I am not familiar with this and would love some advice. We have noticed over the last few weeks increased moodiness and clinginess. She has not quite mastered crawling but she's definitely trying. She also has not had any teeth come in yet. The biggest thing that we noticed is that her naps are hit or miss. She will either take one and a half-two hour naps or barely sleep 30 to 45 minutes. While she is still sleeping through the night there are some nights that she will randomly wake up and cry out but once we give her her paci she typically goes back on to sleep any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks in advance!
