@Jennibenni: My husband loves brunch, so that's a great suggestion. Thanks!

@Amorini: @Hypatia: @LBee: Thanks for all the ideas!

@travellingbee: I hope you have a great trip! Let me know if you find anything you recommend. I've done the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame before and really enjoyed both, even though I'm not super into country music. I think those are some of the most popular attractions for a first visit.

@Truth Bombs: When writing PPark I thought to myself, I legit sound 22 years old saying it's a must see. I stopped myself at recommending a Pedal Tavern.

@LBee: I think Loveless is fine if there's no wait. But it's definitely not worth waiting in line. Despite living down the street we only go with out of town company! And how can you leave The Stage off your honkey tonk list?!? :silly:

@Truth Bombs: I hate Loveless  - we went there once in all the years. It had a long wait and I didn't think it was worth it.

We love Cheekwood and Centennial Park for strolling. The Ryman is also interesting to tour as is the Frist. I'm partial to the Country Music Hall of Fame, too!

Our favorite restaurant is probably Kayne Prime, but there are so many awesome choices. Catbird Seat is currently on my bucket list for the next time I go to Nash and have time to dine with @Truth Bombs.

I personally love the midtown area bars and love just wondering around that area. If you aren't into the honkey tonk scene, that could be a good option. With that said, Paradise Park and Tootsies are seriously fun even if you hate honkey tonks.

We are going for our anniversary next month! Neither of us have ever been there. We are staying at the Holston house, which is a new boutique hotel owned by Hyatt, right on the strip. It looks beautiful and we are very excited! But I have no idea what we will do there. Any other recommendations for nice restaurants for a romantic dinner?
ETA: We are just going for the weekend as well. Flying in Friday and out Sunday, so we will have two dinners there.

@krispi: Gotcha. I live a mile from the Loveless and it will take you about 40 minutes to get there from OpryLand. It's good, but for me personally, the biscuits aren't worth the drive unless you also want to drive the Natchez Trace. Another cool thing to do on this side of town is go to Cheekwood which is a museum with beautiful gardens to walk through. As far as meals, you can not go wrong with a single restaurant from this group: https://www.mstreetnashville.com

There are also some fun walking tours of downtown Nashville. I did one last summer with some visitors that was a walking food tour so you learned history and got to try some of Nashville's local food and drink favorites and we had an amazing time! There are also some awesome spas at The Omni Hotel and the new Westin Hotel and I believe if you do spa services you can then use their roof decks pools. So you could do a couples massage and then some pool time overlooking the city.

Lastly, if you really just want a romantic quiet trip in the area and aren't interested in the down town scene, check out Blackberry Farm http://www.blackberryfarm.com/

@krispi: When I visited on a long weekend my favorite meal by far was brunch at Adele’s in the gulch. It was a really beautiful buffet and so yummy!

@Truth Bombs: Yeah, I know Opryland is a little out of the way from downtown, but I've stayed there before (and I've stayed downtown before too), and I just wanted to be there. We'll be driving, so we'll have our car, or we can take an Uber to downtown if we need to. I got a really great deal on our room, and I couldn't find anything comparable downtown near the same rate.

I love Nashville, my sister lived there for 4 years so I used to visit regularly. I'm sure I dont know many of the current places downtown any more but we always liked being more in the heart of Nashville, near broadway.

Also - we took a day trip out to Loveless Cafe (some argue the best biscuits in the country) and did some site seeing out there - it was really nice. Loveless was awesome...

@krispi: I live here so I have lots of thoughts, but let me start with asking if there's a reason you want to stay at OpryLand? It's cool, but really far away from everything else to do.

My husband and I have a brief (childless) trip booked to Nashville in July to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We'll be there on a Wednesday through Saturday and are staying at the Opryland resort. I've been to Nashville before, although it's been a while, so I'm familiar with the more popular attractions. He's never been for an overnight stay, but he isn't that into the country music scene. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for something we could do that was romantic or kind of out of the way. We had originally wanted to take a bigger trip to the resort where we went on our honeymoon, but we had to scale the trip back to make some repairs to our house. I'm hoping to still make it a special and memorable time.
